Orbital polisher advise

I am new at this. Purchased a Porter-Cable random orbit polisher. I need to polish out bird dropping that never went away on the hood. I am going to use something mild, Pinncale World remover. My question: If I just polish the one spot on the hood will thqt part look different than the rest of the hood. The car is only 1 month old. Would I have to do the entrire hood - something I definitely do not want to do - or can I just do a small small section?

Yes, you can do just that section and see how it looks. Bird crap sometimes etches into the clearcoat when left too long and baked in the sun and it may be stubborn to correct.

At a minimum, I would polish out the whole hood or panel in question. Your going to find the hood in considerably better condition after you have polished, provided the polish is of good quality. Dont forget to seal it up when your completed.

Try to dedicate some time to do the whole car though!

Even though the car is only a month old, I'd get a clay kit and go over it after a good wash and before polishing. I bought a Toyota Rav4 last Spring and was very surprised at the stuff the clay pulled out - and this vehicle only sat on the dealer lot for 2 days before I got it! OK, now you want to know what clay - fair enough, I've used WolfGang and it worked fine, but there are other good brands - I bought Meg's at Autozone when the WG got old - just haven't tried it yet.
