Optimum Tire Shine

How is this tire shine? Is it really shiny like their ad says? Does it sling? How does it compare to Gloss it?
 
I like it. It has a very good gloss and doesn't sling from what I can tell. Fwiw. I ended up diluting the tire shine and it still performs very well.
 
Someone did a test a while back. I believe Optimum held its own. I imagine they are all pretty close for shine and durability. Optimum may be a better deal with the size of the bottle and cost.
 
OTS is a very nice tire shine. I've been through a few gallons of it. Spray it on and let it dwell on the tire for as long as you can so that it will absorb into the rubber. I prefer to let it sit on there during the entire detail. At the very end, wipe off any excess (if there is any) and you're ready to go. The tires will have nice black, matte finish.
 
I haven't used the tire shine but from what I've read, optibond has more gloss while tire shine is supposed to more closer to satin/matte
 
So Optibond is a glossy dressing that dont sling? Really? Thats awesome.



However, for me durability is more important than looks.
 
Yup that's right. I see no point in the regular tire shine because if your after the matte look, just wipe the tire down after.

I am so confused...I have Opt. Tire Shine, and I really liked it, but I stopped using it to try and finish up the bottle of Long Haul that I got at Big Lots...because there was a thread and I HAD to get that Long Haul stuff!!



When I first heard about the Opti-Bond, it sounded great but then I read about it and it was a pro product to be applied with a spray gun, so I gave up thinking about it.



Now because of this thread, I went to Autogeek, and the descriptions of the products seem to be almost identical for gloss/shine, and now they say you can apply the Opti-Bond with a swipe...plus the price is the same, so I'm kind of at a loss as to what the difference really is. I guess I'll try the Opti-Bond after I use up the Long Haul, and my Opt. Tire Shine...and that bottle of BnB...and the HD...so I ought to be trying the Opti-Bond in about 2014, I'll let you guys know how I like it...
 
Perhaps Scottwax will chime in on exactly what the difference is. I am also still on the fence as to which one to get. the Optibond seems to cost less per oz.
