Not really sure what to call my car anymore but anyway here it is with opti-seal X1

Paint is a little over 2 years old. After curing for 3 months I applied

1X Z2

1X S100

Then waited 1 year then applied

1X S100

and today I just applied 1X opti-seal

This car only gets taken out maybe 5 times a year. The rest of the time is spends in the garage under 2 car covers. Yes you read that right 2 covers! There is absolutely ZERO spider webs or any defects in the paint so prep is not needed on this car.

Sorry about the poor light it is cloudy today. You might notice the fiberglass hood doesnt fit perfect. Gotta love fiberglass.

Here is the car in full sun. It looks like Candy paint. It is a custom pearl paint from the Dupont hot Hues line of paints.

looks really good! i'll bite and ask...what does it have under the hood?

It has a 383 stroker thats 13.5:1 compression with 6" billet rods and everything is forged and balanced. It put down almost 600hp at the rear wheels. It was built for drag racing but after a bad accident with my tubbed vega that ended my racing days. So that prompted me to try and turn this car into a street car.

Looks like it's still wet. Did the OptiSeal make a noticeable difference?

Honestly it didnt change the way it looks hardly any. It may have added a bit more gloss and depth but I think the paint surface is so perfect that nothing will change the way it looks to any real noticeable degree. Z2 didnt change it and neither did topping it with S100. :woot:

Opti-Seal does make my 99 navy blue SS Camaro look deep and wet.

I really like OptiSeal and it looks great on my Odyssey Van. That said I think many other products would match the appearance but probably not be as durable and would require more effort.

I have it on my Lexus and the paint is so good on it I could not see a noticeable difference over the Nattys but then again the Nattys looked damned good. Certainly on a well prepped car OptiSeal can give you a fine appearance with very little time expended. On some vehicles I'm sure it will add gloss and depth.

One place the OptiSeal really helps out is on the grained plastic trim as well as black painted trim.

Well that is one beautiful Camaro.....man I had a flashback to high school as I looked at it:cool:

The paint looks great, beautiful color you have on it....stunning piece of American muscle car!!:up

What a gorgeous car! :bow

Reminds me of my '74 Z/28 except your car has a lot more horsepower and a larger rear window.

Thanks alot guys! That car is my pride and joy. So much so that I hate to actully drive it in fear of something happening. It has been a 10 year father son project. I purchased the car the year I graduated high school and I am now 28. Only thing left is the interior and I have been getting the itch to make some changes to the engine to make it more street friendly AND more powerful at the same time. I am thinking along the lines of a low compression blown 540 big block or maybe even a twin turbo setup but that is a couple years away due to planning a wedding and buying a house next summer.

Scares me to death to drive it. I guess it shouldnt because I have full coverage for an agreed $20,000 value and no deductable. They even let me use any shop i want to do the work (which would be my cousin of course) but it still scares me to drive it.

Eeeek 13.5:1 definitely isn't street friendly, I can see why you only drive it 5 times a year! Blown 540 sounds fun though!
