Opti-Seal: 2007 Civic Hybrid

Hey all! I haven't posted a C&B in a while as I've been busy with school, and making a site. Found some time to put together this detail I did back in November when the temperature was around 6C. A previous client of mine referred his father to me with this brand new 2007 Honda Civic Hybrid that had just been rustproofed. I thought it would be a good idea to get the paint protected before winter hit.

Process:

Pretreat rust proofing overspray with Citrus Degreaser @ 3:1

ONR wash

Clay

IPA wipedown

1 coat of Optimum Opti-Seal

Vacuumed interior

Another coat of Opti-Seal

Wiped down interior

Dressed all panels with 303. Needed many coats as the panels were very dry.

Dressed tires with EO tire shine

Windows cleaned with IG inside and out.

I noticed on the roof, there were about 9 fish-eyes. I was very shocked to find these. Notified the owner but I'm not sure what has come of it. Hopefully it has been sorted out.

All pictures were edited for border and license plates.

I was very happy with the way Opti-Seal came out on this colour. It made the flake pop big time.

Thank you for looking! Questions, comments, criticisms, and suggestions are welcome as always!

p.s. I can't wait till the warm weather comes back!

I had to do a double take at first. Here in the States, our mirrors and door handles are painted. After the 303, did you go back and wipe down? The steering wheel looks very shiny...could be the flash???

It could be the flash, but I did I put more than usual on the panels because it was a new car and the panels were extremely dry to start. Didn't look as glossy when the client picked up the car. :)

^I was actually surprised on how clean the job was compared to his son's car...it was COVERED in overspray.
