Opti Coat clear bra questions!

I have a clear bra on my Ferrari 360. Like every clear bra, there are spots where the bra fits a little higher in some places and lower in others.

I have been thinking about Opti Coating my 360 but am concerned there will be lines (edges) in these locations when I take the clear bra off and put a new one on.

I am also concerned about the line across the hood since it is only covered half way up. If I remove the bra, will there be a line where the Opti Coat met the clear bra?

Anyone Opti over a clear bra?

We Opti over clear bras regularly, but IMHO, a F-Car should have a full front wrap. ;) NO SEAMS! But it won't cause a problem. It will also protect the bra from staining.

Opti-Coat is about 2 microns thick, not sure that is thick enough to be visible to the naked eye. Another option is to remove the clear bra, apply Opti-Coat to the whole car, wait a few days then put the new clear bra on. That way if it ever has to come off again, you've already got protection on the paint.

As a heads up:

I spoke with Ronald at Optimum and when asked about applying Opti-C/G over clear bra, he said that coating some of the films with "self-healing" attributes could create problems.

This has been tested i believe by eric @trushine while he was at xpel training, and the results were very desirable and didnt hinder that self healing aspect.

Im not sure how the self healing actually works, but my guess is that it works by having the material expand back into shape from beneath, not from around the area hence self healing should continue to work.

I would think adherability would be an issue on that type of film. In fact I wonder how durability is on PPF compare to paint. Anyone done enough to know???

I am just repeating what the marketing director at Optimum said. Personally, I can not testify one way or the other as to how accurate it is. But I will say this. Logic tells me that if a business wants to sell more product that they produce, they do not tell people not to use it in specific cases. That gives me reason to believe the guy telling me not to use it as he is trying to give good info, not just talk.
