OPT Power Clean vs Meguiars APC Plus?

Garry Dean

Garry Dean Quality!
Which one is the stronger more versitile cleaner? The power clean is $35.99 per gallon and the Megs APC+ is $15.99 per gallon over at AG. Does the price say it all? Is Power clean worth over twice as much?

If you have used them both your input will be appreciated!

I use Megs APC+ and it seems to work fine for me, i keep a bottle of heavy duty dilution on hand as well as a medium duty, although i rarely ever have to break out heavy duty.

Power Clean is a good cleaner. Just that the Meg is an old favorite. So chances are, people are more likely to have the Meg than Power Clean. Maybe you can buy a smaller bottle to try it out yourself?

I currently have the Optimum APC and have used it 3:1 dilutions for cleaning wheels, tires, engine bay and it appears to work well. However, I have recently also purpose some of the Meg's APC+ as many people tout this an an excellent APC, and for the price and dilution rations are much lower than that of the Optimum APC. If the Meg's works at least as good or better than the Optimum, I think I'll be sticking with the Meg's product.

I have both. Each has their uses. APC+ cleans tire grime less than OPC from what I could tell. Also, I probably would never shoot APC+ through my foam cannon, while OPC I can do it with a peace of mind. So far, OPC is stronger than APC+ at the same dilutions IME

I've used OPC and loved it at 3:1 for just about everything. I have some APC+ on the way to try out now. I decided to try APC+ because it's much cheaper and generally get's good reviews.

I like that I can trust ONR to rinse OPC sufficiently and the cleaning power is good. If APC+ comes close to OPCs cleaning and is as safe when rinsed with nothing but ONR it will become my new APC.

I use Optimum Power Clean for rims, tires, wheel wells, exhaust tip, and engine. I love the stuff! It's really slick too. I also put OPC in my foam gun along with Opt. Car Wash when I want to give the paint a good cleaning before a wax.

I've got Meg's APC with D103 on order since it's way less expensive and seems to do a great job. I'm pretty sure I'm going to switch to the Meg.'s APC since it will accomplish what I am looking for.
