Opinions: Follow up call w/results URL

Looks good. One thing I did was to make a template of a brochure on MS Office Publisher. What I do is to download the pictures after the detail, then insert some befores and afters into the the brochure template. I also describe the process that was used. At the top of the brochure, I put the client's name, along with their vehicle (ie John's Tundra), and all of my contact info is at the bottom of the brochure at the end. I then print it off on nice, glossy paper, and paperclip a couple of business cards to it. I typically mail it out the same day, or next day after I have completed the detail. I figure it the customer has a crochure they can carry around with them, they will likely show it to people, and will also have extra business cards they can hand out.

I think it will go over well with customers. I think you should do a posting on how to do this, your tips and tricks.

WeekendWarrior!!!

I would love a copy of the template you use you can just PM if you are willing to share it.

Cheers,

GREG

Thanks for the input guys! CrobarCars on the Optimum board is the one who told me about this feature on photobucket. He was using it as a promo video and the idea hit me that this would be a great way to do a follow up.

All you do to make one of these is login to your photobucket account, upload the pictures you want to use, click photo remix tab at the top, drag and drop pictures in the order you want them, drag and drop transitions of your choice from the left menu, create text from the left menu if you want, add music from the menu if you want, and just like the photos on photobucket: you will have a link to it that you can copy into forums or email, etc.

BTW the only think that took me a couple minutes to figure out was how to chanf the amount of time that each slide stayed up. When you select the photo after dragging it to the filmstip on the bottom, ther will be a slider under the preview photo. You can change the time by moving the slider for each photo (I think default is 3 sec.; I changed the pics to 4 sec, but left the section titles on 3 sec)

Hope this helps and post your work! I'd love to see what you guys come up with.

The links aren't working for me but the idea sounds great! I'll have to check this out later. Thanks for posting that!

Very cool idea. Although I think I could do it faster or just as fast with a movie editor on my computer. Plus then I'd have the option to burn it to a DVD for the customer and they could pop it in their dvd player at home to view it....just an idea.

Here's a quickie that I did on an old detail.

That's a great idea too! I'm gonna post them on myspace and/or email them the link so I don't have to waste a stamp and DVD and that will make them familiar with my site.

Yes, but the way I figure is that if you mail them a DVD, they are more likely to play it for friends and family than a link that they click on once and then forget about. I think it would be well worth the cost of the stamp or if they are close by, just drop it off to them a few days later.

Ahhhh,.... that's what I love about whiteboarding on this forum. It helps so much to bounce ideas off one another! Great point!

I think you guys have some great ideas. A DVD would be a great "thank you" gift for those that got full details. It would also be great advertising as well. I think it'd be overkill (effort, time, cost) to do it for express-type customers though.

I like the DVD idea as like a 6 month reminder

with a title of " remeber when" or "is your car ready for some help again"
