OOC vs TAW?

I am thinking about applying Klasse paint sealer to my black ML. I have old wax on it already but it still looks good. I have been using turtle was.

Can I apply Klasse over the old wax. Or do I have to take steps to remove the old wax first.

thanks

The old wax must be remove for the Klasse to bond properly. Klasse All-In-One has cleaning abilities so it's should remove all the old wax. I would do 2 coats of AIO just to be safe. If you are still worried you can wash the car with Dawn and that will strip all the old wax also. :up

Hi there Blau welcome to town!

Showroom is sending good info your way. The AIO will remove the old wax but two coatings will not only insure all of the old wax has been removed but it will also make up for and missed or lightly done spots.

I am thinking about using liquid glass now over Klasse. I am looking with something that is long lasting.

what do you guys think??

thanks

My 99 black ML just after using SMR and 3 coats of AIO... This was before I applied 2 coats of SG.

Alboston Nice truck!

I notice it is black like mine.

And guys,

Also does using Klasse AIO and SG will it hide/remove minir scratches and swarb marks too.

thanks

The SG removes scratches and swirl marks very well. After about two coats of SG you will really see this. I have a black car so any minor scratches show up pretty easily and SG filled them in. I have about 5 coats on and it looks(looked) unbelievable. After having salt filled roads in our area for the past month I am beginning to notice it is losing its shine after two months. Salt and water are very caustic, especially when heated by the sun on a black car and mixed with road oil, so I do not think SG holds up as well as everyone says against the long winter elements.

waxman,

and to others,

Can your reapply another coat sg after say a month or two after the previous coat.

thanks

sorry for all those questions but I want to make sure I get the right stuff for me??

You can add layers of SG down the road if you wish to. Klasse SG does NOT remove swirls. It does have some filling properties though, you should try to remove as many swirls as you can before application for best results.

I dont' recall seeing this in any threads, but has someone done a side-by-side of Opti Clean vs P12S TAW? I'd be interested due to engine cleaning as well as whole car stripping.

I just red Cory's (CEE Dog) review of OC. From what it seemed like to me, I am not sure they are the same type of product. I know TAW is a very versitile product (I use it myself), but it seems to me that OC does some things that TAW doesn't and TAW does some things that OC doesn't. But hey, that is just my view. I could be wrong.

I think their is some confusion between OPC (Optimum Power Clean) and OOC (Optimum Opti Clean)
Optimum should do something about their naming. Heres some info I copy pasted for the Optimum. The TAW description I just typed a brief summary.

Optimum Opti? Clean is the ultimate one-step product. It cleans and protects all automotive surfaces in one step. Use Optimum Opti? Clean on paint, vinyl, rubber, metals, plastics, and even glass! You'll save time, effort, and money while achieving a clean, well-protected vehicle. Optimum Opti? Clean does it all!

Dilute Optimum Power Clean? up to 3:1 to safely clean leather, vinyl, paint, and plastics. Remove old dash dressings and tough residues from interior panels. Wipe away spills and spots from leather seats. Special polymers and emulsifiers break down contaminants with minimal agitation. Use full strength, Optimum Power Clean? cleans and degreases the engine compartment, cleans wheels, and wheel wells. This sophisticated formula dissolves bugs and powers through brake dust and oil to clean your vehicle?s dirtiest parts.

P21 TAW is for the entire exterior of the vehicle and is often used to safely strip the vehicle of LSP. It can also be used for engines, exhaust pipes, etc.

Power CLean is a closer alternative that works great price wise and functionally both interior/exterior without doing any harm. It's dilutable and usable with a foam lance.
