ONR Wheel Process Help

I've been washing my car using ONR for the last few months. I clean the wheels last and spray each wheel with my ONR mix in a pesticide sprayer, I then use a dedicated wheel rag to the clean the wheels and follow up with a dedicated mf towel. My question is, is there a better way for the wheels? Would I be smarter to spray the whelels first with a wheel cleaner like Griots and then rinse with my onr sprayer followed by a mf towel? What have others found to be best?

Thanks

i just use onr I dont like to use wheel cleaners I clean my truck atleast once a week so onr is able to remove all the dirt very easly

Once your wheels are clean if you apply a good wheel sealant, sealer, or a durable wax then you shouldn't need a wheel cleaner, your ONR or regular car wash should clean them right up. If you do use a wheel cleaner then reapply your protection because it will strip it off.

I have a few brushes that I use along with ONR. Also, I do the wheels and fenderwells first so I can get the fenderwells dressed without the wind blowing dressing all over freshly washed paint. This way, anything that gets on the car gets washed off. I do change out the bucket after doing the wheels.

If you are washing in a garage and the wind isn't a problem, starting with the body of the car and finishing with the wheels would work just as well.

I use a good mixture of ONR as my wheel cleaner, works great for clear-coated wheels, melts the dirt right off.. no more etching or stripping my wax off the wheels. Plus cheaper too...

I use poorboys spray and rinse wheel cleaner a few times per year (4 or 5); saves me time and works great. No scrubing. All other months I just use a MF towel and ONR.

When done, I use Poorboys EXP on rims since I still have yet to find a good wheel wax; they all "die" pretty quick due to heat. Plus I do not like EXP since JW is the king...so far.

I used a sprayer and a boars hair wheel brush. That works on the bulk of the vehicles I clean each week. A few that are not cleaned as often I'll use a dilluted APC or wheel cleaner. I clean them the same as with ONR, just I use a little more rinsing the wheel area down with the sprayer. I have a stiffer wheel brush but rarely have to use it. I have a couple other brushes that I use on the wells or whitewall/letters. I dry the wheels and dry with a mf towel afterwards. Like Scott I do this before washing the body and dress the wells and tires also.

I give wheels/tires a good spray with ONR (I use a spray of 8oz ONR/gal water). Then I brush with a megs wheel brush and wet/dry wipe with waffle weave MF's.

I do the wheels/tires last.
