ONR wash media

Thanks Al! Did you choose this over sheepskin or for another reason?

Sheepskin got way too gummy to me. The fibers seem to just stay together. With these mf mitts, I can see what gets picked up. The dreadlocks did ok but wanted something not as heavy. I also used plush mf (530 g) but they took too much trouble to fold, etc.

I tend to dip it in the bucket and then go to paint so usually taking a lot of solution with it.

I actually use the Dragon Fiber Magic Towel. When I first started doing it, my Big Blue towel was getting pretty soaked drying my cars. But now I actually do two passes with the MF towel. The second pass, the MF towel is more damp than soaking wet, and sucks up any residual drips on the car, and gets any spots I might have missed. This makes much less work for the Big Blue, and also makes sure it doesn't get dirt on it

Harry,
I used to use the Grout sponge from Lowes, with very nice results. I just recently picked up the new Opti Mitt and really like it. It holds and releases the right amount of ONR solution when needed. Also, the foam is very soft, so there is no worries about marring the paint.

Good post Bunky.....I tried the sheepskin too with ONR....Do you have any experince with using ONR as a Qucik Detailer? What ratio is best or dilution ?
Just actually started using ONR about a month ago and now I am hooked on this stuff !!

I had been using the dreadlock mitts and now been using a mf mitt (got couple from PAC). You can flip them since I usually wipe, flip, wipe same area then rinse.

They seem to rinse out somewhat in a rinse bucket so they stay cleaner. I usually use 2 per car plus a sponge along the rockers.

I have been using this mitt for my ONR washes, but have been experimenting with other options as well. I have a few grout sponges, and have found that compressing a grout sponge, and sliding it into the MF mitt, and letting it conform to the inside of the mitt allows it to hold a LOT more solution. It is like having the MF sponge, but I can still slip my hand in if I want, or remove the grout sponge to get the wheels/lower panels at the end without further dirtying my MF mitt. :Dancing Dot:

Personally I love the Dragon Fiber Magic Towel's for ONR. I like using a towel because I can get into tight areas like body seams, window seams, and around around door handles. I use a popsicle stick to wrap the towel around to clean areas like behind the mirror and jambs, and wider gaps.
