I did a little comparison today of these two products. The ONR was mixed 1 capfull of product to roughly 10 oz of tap water, and used as a QD spray. The Free was in its ready-to-use state.
So, how did they stack up against each other?
Cleaning ability: Free, by a slight margin, my car wasn't super dirty to begin with though. I have a feeling on a really dirty vehicle Free would pull ahead farther.
Smell: ONR, Free smelled better initially, but it lingers on your hands.
Value: ONR come on, Free ready-to-use costs about the same as ONR concentrate per Oz.
Ease of use: Free, it was much easier to wipe off, onr was "grabby" at least with my MF cloths.
Versatility: tie, both are VERY versatile!
Slickness: Free
Gloss: ONR, BUT... this is a tough one, ONR looked better in my eyes initially, much crisper and clearer. Free looked almost milky on the surface. After about 5 min both sides looked very similar, ONR slightly clearer, Free slightly deeper. Its really hard to describe how the two looked with out seeing them yourself.
THE WINNER........ TIE! :hairpull
I really cant decide, both are simply fantastic products.
I have a feeling I'll be reaching for Free more often for wipedowns after rainstorms, etc
but I'm not giving up my ONR.
I highly recommend both. the pro may find Free to be cost prohibitive however.
I cant wait to see how Free works on a salt covered winter beater!
