ONR Two questions

Got my bottle in the main today. Can't wait to go home and wash the car!

1. If I ONR my car today, will the surfacce be OK for the application of another layer of sealant? Its over 40 degrees today and I would like to take advantage of it.

2. If ONR is good due to its Lubricity why not use it everyday even with a hose to reduce micro marring?

Thanks,

Jeff

1. Yes

2. I use ONR all the time

I've heard ONR adds protection, usually that inhibits sealant bonding? I wouldn't go to the trouble of adding a sealant unless you were using a soap that doesn't add protection.

I haven't had any trouble doing it.

I have used ONR before sealing with no bonding issues. If in doubt, do an IPA or Prep Sol wipe down before sealing or waxing.

I have recently switched to ONR for clients who cannot provide water. I have done about 15 now since 2 weeks ago and I am amazed at the stuff!! I have been applying sealants directly after with no issues, but it hasnt been much time in between. I haven't noticed any marring. I wash with a HD grout sponge and dry with an Absorber then buff with a microfiber.

How did you invest the *protection = bonding issues* theory? Sealants add protection too yet they don't inhibit bonding to themselves...

ONR adds polymers which add a bit of gloss and protection and they are good for proper bonding. Synthetics go hand in hand with synthetics.

Right, so ONR makes klasse SG or Zaino "More durable", got it. Has anyone actually done a durability test or do we say because it seams slick after I apply my sealant there are no durability issues? I'm not trying to be difficult, I've never used ONR, I'm just curious. If I wash twice with ONR am I layering?

I use ONR mixed at the QD ratio and it help the wax last longer.

wash a car with ONR every week, and it will bead for as long as you do so. A car that has no protection will gain protection after a few washes

Just ONR washes for 18 months....can't say ONR protects like a wax or sealant but it definitely aids beading and sheeting.

Well I'm sold, just ordered some. I doubt that I'll use before a sealant, but it looks like a great product and I'm just out of QEW. BOGO on DP sounded good, but this product is just too popular, have to try it. I don't think I'll miss the smell of QEW at all, yuck. What does ONR smell like?

ONR has a lemon-Pine Sol scent.

I can promise you no problems if you wash with ONR then apply a sealant. I do it all the time.

Listen to Scottwax. I've 2 cars, and still experimenting with ONR (3 months now). On one car, I applied Wolfgang Sealant after ONR. On the other, I applied 2 layers of Opti-Seal after ONR. The Wolfgang is still beading. And, the car with Opti-Seal just about knocks my socks off everytime I see it.
