ONR is the .........

BOMB.......I know there's a million threads on this, but I gotta tell ya ONR is the lick.

Mrs. saleenman607 had to pick someone up in her DD that was semi dirty and sitting in full sun. I figured I'd try to ONR it, so I made a solution, grabbed the grit guard and rinse water, 8 MF's and proceeded to take care of business. WOW...no problem even in full sun! Turned out terrific.....ONR will always have a shelf place in my cabinet!

Carry on........

Did you use the MF for washing and drying or did you use a grout sponge

for doing the washing? Just trying to get a feel for how people's doing it.

I personally don't care (AT ALL) for the grout sponge. It just doesn't hold enough water for me. I have to dip that thing after practically every swipe, so I use the target MF covered blue sponge dilly-bob and 8 or 10 MF's to wipe dry. On a non sun day or in the garage, it's a breeze, but in full sun on a hot car, it was amazing the results I had.

I wipe the panel down using one or two strokes, then wipe dry. sometimes I'll use 10 to 15 MF's.

That's a lot of MF towels! You do a full MF wash after the ONR wash?

How good quality MF towels should you use?

I just bought 128 oz of Detailers Pride Rinseless Wash & Gloss - so far only used it as QD and Clay Lube - didn't use it to wash my car (Yet)

If I have to use so many MF towels, I'm wondering if I can use my cheaper Costco towels.

i've heard a couple people talk badly about the costo towels on the forum. i think sestec astronomy did recently, prehaps he'll chime in.

Scottwax will make an appearance in 3,2,1.... :)

ONR is good stuff, glad you guys recommended it and keep recommending it. I don't prefer grout sponge either, but dude you are using way to many MF towels.

I'm going to be using ONR as a Clay lube on an STI next week.

How many cap fulls per gallon of water?

thanks:grinno:

Me??? I don't have any Costco towels, and I have an alibi...

Hey, if he's got that many MF towels to use, excellent. Changing out to fresh towels often is never a bad idea. Especially if the vehicle is really dirty.

I'm not one of the grout sponge fans. I like a dripping-wet-with-ONR Eurow MF as my wash media, and dry Eurow MF's as my drying media when I ONR wash.

Using either de-ionized or distilled water with ONR makes thorough drying optional. Just get the big stuff.

The directions for making up ONR as a clay lube make the solution kinda weak. I mix it at QD strength to use as clay lube, but that's just me being paranoid.

I don't mind if it's stronger at all. In fact I'd rather have more than enough slickness to avoid marring.

What dilution? Caps per gallon.

* I assume that 1 cap full is 1 oz. with ONR. ?

2oz. for clay lube

6oz. for QD

I use my sink warm soft water as the ONR carrier to awesome results. The reason I use so many MF's (this is directed to a couple post's back) is that I try to blot the remaining water as opposed to dragging, and that usually results in multiple MF usage. The Eurow MF's are also the BOMB.

Carry on.

Supe,

How many Eurows do you go through as just the wash media? Do you use one or multiple? I'm guessing it depends on how dirty the vehicle is.

I think the cap is .5 oz.

FWIW my new bottle of ONR says 8oz per gal of water for the QD :nixweiss

I use the Costco MF towels for interior, glass and home - they seem pretty good to me (for inexpensive MF)

I did a CD test and they don't scratch (until you really put very heavy thumb pressure - but then all my MF will scratch a CD this way - Cobra WW, Cobra Gray Plush MF, even Cookie Monster MF)

I normally wouldn't use them for the outside of the car as they are not as plush as my other MFs, but if I have to use so many towels for ONR I don't want to dirty all my expensive plush MF towels just to wash my car. Might as well wash it the old fashion way.

Yeah, that sounds about right. My DP RW&G says to use 2-2.5 oz per 32 oz of water to make a QD.

I was searching for the answer and found that it seems that 2 caps = 1oz of ONR.

I was just curious what others were using.

thanks

I use a small 8oz polycarbonate measuring cup that I bought in the dollar store. I made sure to test it first if it's accurate - it is :)

I would prefer something even more precise like a measuring beaker but couldn't find one in WalMart or Sears - any suggestions where I could find one?
