"Old Muscle..."

Just wanted to share some of the cars I detail on a regular basis.

I run around with a group of guys and gals that all have old muscle cars, Vettes, street rods, etc.

From April through October we go to "cruise nights" every Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday afternoon. Not to mention the out-of-town road trips we take every month.

Most of these guys are mechanics, who can pull an engine, fix it, and put it back in, on a Saturday. NOT ME!

So, if I need something fixed on my Vette, they do it for free and, in return, I polish/detail their cars...

It's nice to be able to get my hands on some of these nice old cars!!!!

those are some gorgeous cars... even though i'm young and come from the land of computerized cars... i absolutely love every bit of the "old muscle" :) Man do i miss my 69 vette...
 
Mine too! It had a terrible paint job on it but my dad and i rebuilt her. Had a 350 small block that was just absolutely brutal. The engine was chromed and polished, the interior was impeccable, but the paint job was abysmal. unfortunately i dont have any pictures anymore, lost them in a hard drive crash :(.

When we were going to sell the car, i had a potential buyer in the car. I was moving along at about 125 mph and saw smoke start rolling out from under the hood... So i pulled over and popped the hood only to see flames going nuts. So i flipped the driver seat forward to grab the fire extinguisher only to find it missing. Turns out that dad had to use it on the grill the week before and forgot to put it back in the car. So, at that point it was too late and the car burnt to the ground :(

It was probably one of the most depressing days ever.

Oh well, there's always more cars out there

Absolutely not!!!:) I just don't have any pictures of their cars. Two Mach 1's, a big-block Starliner, Cyclone GT, '69 Charger and a 340 Cuda.

The pictures above are kind of the "core group". The other guys don't go quite as much as we do.

Next time we are all together I'll be sure to get some pics!!!!:D
 
and soooooo little money hahaa

my wife gets so annoyed cause i'm always pointing out cars that i would like to own someday.
 
One nice thing about these old cars..... None of them have original paint!!!!!

And that's a good thing! :) Original paint on these old cars is miserable to work with!!!:mad:
 
Love those cars! I grew up in the era of the 60's/70's muscle cars when building your car (called modding now ;) ) was always an ongoing project. In 1977, my first car was a 67 GTO that my dad made me buy instead of a primer gray 68 Firebird I had my eye on. My dad thought the GTO looked more responsible and I would get into less trouble with it than the Firebird. Little did he know...

But I was 16 and didn't know much better. I thought the Goat looked boring, a grocery getter, something my mom would drive. It didn't take me long to discover what the GTO could do when I took it to school for the first time. My buddy's jaw dropped and he said (almost reverently) "Dude, you bought a Goat!" I'm thinking, "Oh great, rub it in.."

But my buddy explained the potential of what I had and demonstrated in the high school parking lot all of that power lurking under the hood. Standing on the brake and hitting the gas, we fishtailed the GTO in a wide sweeping motion. Later I would save money to fit it with an Edelbrock manifold and a Holley 4bbl carb, and that GTO was a monster. I sold it a few years later for $1200. I saw a restored Goat last year, same year and model, selling for $35,000.
