Old #9 vs #9 2.0?

I just found an almost full bottle of Meguiar's Swirl Remover #9 amongst my supplies. What's the difference between this and the #9 2.0, if anything? I was going to order the #9 2.0 until I discovered I already have the old formula

the original is hard to use - leaves haze, hard to buff out. I prefer 3M SMR over it - both MUST be used by machine or your arm falls off after one properly done panel. But the 2.0 works very well. It is quite mild, but it works, and is very forgiving. Good by hand, better by machine.

The body shop version (swirl free polish), according to a meguiar's rep, contains more oils than SMR 2.0 hence, it should only be used by a machine to help break down the abrasives.

On the other hand, Scottwax (whom I trust about a hundred times more) says it works fine by hand. In fact, it works much better than 2.0 by hand.
