Oh, so many products, need advice...

Well I have gotten and kept my baby pretty swirl free. More than likely I wont be doing any major buffing come this spring. I will probably just go over it with a light swirl remover and a polishing pad and follow up with my protectants. Heres my questions though:

1) I have a nice set of spring rims going on my car, is the P21S gel a good safe wheel cleaner? Any other recomendations?

2) Car wash soap, its not lifes biggest choice but I am looking for something different. Should I try

a) P21S

b) Meguiars gold class

c) Meguiars NXT wash

d) Other, if so, what?

3) Heres the big question, I am in love with klasse. Its durability is AMAZING. And with the Nor easter winter weather as of late, I need protection that lasts when I cant detail her. However, I love the look of this new NXT stuff. What about using the NXT as a topper? Maybe do like 2 coats of Klasse and 2 coats of NXT? Will they bond? I need some thoughts and opinions on this, I searched but couldnt find anything quite related to this particular question.

4) My current microfiber towels are about to become my window and interior towels as they have seen some duty. I want some fresh ones, but I dont recall where I got these. Any recomendations on where I could scoop up some decent microfiber towels at?

5) Microfiber wash mitts? Yes, no? If so, where can I get one? If not, what do you recommend?

6) This one is dumb, but for the life of me I cant remember where I ordered my CMA pads. Can somebody direct me, also, I remeber wanting to try the Orange pad, is it something I could try on my touch up buffing in the spring or not worth it?

Thanks, and to my fellow Norhteastern detailers, hang in there, spring is around the corner... :xyxthumbs

1) I like Eagle One A2Z Wheel Cleaner.

2) I use Griot's Car Shampoo and like it. I am not too picky on my soap. When this is out I will just go with the Meguiar's I can get at the local paint shop.

3) I never uses Klasse or NXT...sorry

4) Poorboy's www.poorboysworld.com sells good Microfiber towels.

5) Never used one but Poorboy's has them.

6) www.properautocare.com ;) I bought the orange pad and it fell apart on me. I just stick to the black/grey, white, and yellow now.

DavidB did a great article on the new Sonax wheel cleaner compared to P21S. Check out www.bettercarcare.com for the article.

If shampoo brand doesn't matter, just go with whatever you can find locally at a good price. Gold Class shampoo is usually a good deal. I've always like Eagle One WET shampoo. And Mothers shampoo is a goodie. All these can be had at any parts store.

I don't think NXT will bond to Klasse or anything. Since its so new no one really knows how durable it is. Get back to us in 6 months. If you want to try it, give it a spin.

There are several good MF sources including Autopia Sponsors like www.autofiber.com and CMA. I recommend supporting the sponsors that support this forum. Ian at Autofiber is offering 25% off for the rest of the month so if you want a great deal on MF's, don't screw around - order today.

I have a couple MF mitts and don't like them. Too small and don't hold enough solution. I'll stick with cotton chenille. But don't let my opinion put you off them. Buy one and give it a spin to see if you like it.

You can find Lake Country pads at www.topoftheline.com as well as CMA.

1) Use car wash soap only. Unless you make it a habit of letting brake dust cake on your wheels for weeks at a time, car wash soap is more than strong enough to get your wheels clean.

2) Any name brand car wash soap will give good results. Kit Carnauba is a pretty good off the shelf brand and the new NXT car wash soap is also real good with decent sheeting action once you remove the hose nozzle.

3) If you want to use Klasse/NXT, I'd use AIO then NXT. Like Bret said, no telling how well NXT and SG will bond together. Actually, you might want to try Meguiars Swirl Free #82, AIO and NXT.

4) Autopia member Patrick has some very nice MF towels. Supporting fellow members is also good. I would agree with 2001civicex that Poorboy's MFs are also outstanding...a little pricier than Patricks though.

5) Never used them, just chenille covered foam pads. I've never really like mitts anyway.

6) You can order pads at the Autopia store.
