Oh my aching back!!!

Well I have sworn off doing many boats because they are just too hard on my back these days.

Now I might have to stop doing low to the ground sports cars too.:surrender

I had a black RX-8 yesterday and a red Audi A-4 today. Both were in need of some pretty heavy polishing. I honestly didn't think I was gonna make it through the Audi today because of my back.

Goes to show that my polishing technique could probably use some adjusting. I find myself bending over when I should be kneeling.

Atleast Sheila has sympothy for me when I get home. She loads me up with Motrin and hands me an ice pack.:)

I know how you feel after a long weekend of detailing it takes me until Tuesday to feel right again....what I use is an old desk chair that has the adjustments for up and down...helps greatly with the lower parts of the cars...or get a crate that you can move around...I know its a hassle but will save your back in the long run

Wouldn't work for me, atleast not on the low to the ground cars. You really need to be on your knees to get low enough. Problem is my knees will bother me if I kneel too much.:D
 
My Back Is Pretty Good, But The Last Few Days Here In Southeast Nc The Heat Index Has Been 105 To 107. Ive Been Trying To Get Started About 7am And finish Working early. Cant Wait Till Fall.

Agreed while its not as bad up here the humidty plays havoc on detailing. Plus I end up sweating like a pig.
 
I use a creeper stool when polishing lower panels, cleaning wheel wells, wheels and tires.
Several varieties are available and if you don't find anything you like, you could always custom build one.

I stopped doing boats about 2 years ago, my back could not take it any more and my neck. I just send to a Friend that's all he does and loves it.
 
You need to get four portable jacks and raise the car to a useable height..you're too young to complain :notme::lol2:

I detail cars for a collector car storage place near buy and thats the best part, all of the cars are on lifts so I just raise and lower them to what ever height I need to not have to bend over at all.
