Well folks, this is my first post, and I'm happy to be a member. I have a question...
I have a Dewalt circular polisher and just recently i detailed two cars. One was a 2002 VW Jetta (dark blue). It was heavily scratched and I got a lot of it out, some were just down to the primer. The car came out great....this is what I used:
Wash with Dawn
Claybar
Wash with Z7 (car wash)
Used orange foam pad with 3M Finess it swirl mark remover (for dark cars).
After the 3M, I used Klasse AIO with a white polishing pad to remove the harsh marks caused by the 3M.
Wiped down with MF towel and Zaino Z6 (detail spray)
Followed with Z2
Car looked awesome.
Now....
The second car was a 2000 ML430 (Black Opal) sort of a dark blue/purple metallic 'depending on sunlight and how clean it is.'
The car was in almost same condition (swirl mark-wise), but here's the problem. I got much more hologramming with the Mercedes. Can anyone tell my why it happened and how to prevent it...thanks!
