OCW, dark colored cars, and paint chips

Does OCW dry clear or white?

I have a dark green 1998 Accord. It's been a daily driver the whole time on I80 in NJ. As you can imagine, it's got some significant paint chips in the hood. However, it also has tons of previously unoticeable chips in the clear coat.

I have currently have 2 coats of NXT liquid on it. It dried clear so there was no issue. I applied 2 coats of OCW after each wash in the last few weeks. I've noticed that there is a slew of white specs all over the hood. I have to conclude that it's the OCW dried up in each minor scratch.

Should I use a QD (ONR mixed as a QD) and rewipe the panel?

Has anyone else had an issue with this?

If this continues to be an issue, I may have to go back to using NXT spray wax after washes.

1. i have not noticed OCW leaving a white residue in chips.

2. if you are daily driving on an expressway, paint chips in the front end are a given,

I know your pain, trust me !!

3. i would not let this stop you from using the OCW, it is going to provide much more durability than the NXT.

4. i'm thinking the liquid NXT would be more prone to leaving the residue,

are you sure you did not notice it before :nixweiss

stick with the OCW :2thumbs:
