Obsession; Particularly Ill Today

My car went into the shop yesterday for routine service, but a couple of issues will require that they keep the car a few days. So I have a nice shiny metallic blue BMW 325 as a loaner.

My car has a built-in garage door opener, and I don't have a separate unit any more. So it's a hassle to put this car in the garage. Yet every time I leave it in the driveway I say "I really should put it in the garage" and in fact I did last night, and I probably will tonight.

I just caught myself, for about the 6th time, going "I wonder how much better it would look if I.... (insert your favorite polish/wax/buff step here.)

It has a few minor scratches. "I could get those out", think I.

What is WRONG with me?

Nothing is wrong! A loaner car is the perfect test bed for testing new products and methods (you know, crap you would never do to your own car ;), go nuts and have fun.:xyxthumbs

Good practice car, except for a rotary if you are learning to use one (which you will never need for those sweet cars you have.)

time to have some fun :D

i so agree with trying stuff out on a loaner car. I needed to rent a car one day so i went to the local rental company and got a 2002 grand am, and of course it was black. The car was in good shape but i just had to try some new stuff on it. I took out the mikita and started to try all different compounds on it to see which i liked the best, but the time i was done, i ended up compounding the entire car. i even wanted to see how the compound does on high speed, how cared it was not my car. brought the car back better looking then i took it out. i should have charged them
