Oakes - Detailed: Philadelphia Auto Show Prep - Japanese Content

I had the opportunity to prepare two vehicles for the Philadelphia International Auto show a few weeks ago, I'm a little delayed in posting this content as I've been very busy with work and getting the new place squared away. These two cars are very unique in their own rights and the approach was to allow them to shine in every way possible. I had both vehicles for 3 1/2 days and spent a combined 60+ hours on both, up until the morning they were trailored down to the show.

The first car is a 2006 Subaru STi, boasting a Zero/Sports body kit and a GT3076 turbo under the hood putting out 410 whp on a very conservative tune! The only downside to this car, which isn't a very big one at all, is the Subaru paint. As you can see it fell victim to many swirls and such, due to it's softness, however we were able to fix that.

Process:

Menzerna 203 - Orange

Menzerna PO85RD - Green

P21S Paint Cleanser

Blackfire Wet Diamond Paint Sealant - Black

Pure Carnuaba wax

The second car is a 1994 Toyota Supra, in black! This car was done by me months ago, and has since been partly repainted and re-buffed by someone other than myself. The paint work itself was done well! With that said I still had some work cut out for me.

Process:

Menzerna 203 - Yellow

Menzerna 203 - Orange

Menzerna PO85RD - Green

P21S Paintwork Cleanser

Blackfire Wet Diamond Paint Sealant - Black

Pure Carnuaba wax

Lots of sweat, tears, exhaustion and a little bit of blood.

Starting it off with the STi:

The paint was then inspected after a full degreasing wash/prep, the healthiest readings were 103-105 throughout.

Upon finishing this car, time to take extra pictures and such was slim, so I didn't get many finished paint photos and the photos taken outside were at the crack of dawn. With that said, I managed to grab some pics of the car outside all finished up waiting for the trailer to arrive. Reflections photos to kick it off!

O M to the G!

I just fell in love with a SUbby! My wife will be jealous.

Great work! and I mean Great. Those 50/50s look like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde and the finished pics look like an oil spill occured. Terrific!

NIck very glad to see your busy. The work looks great man. Keep it up bro. Thank you for sharing some fine rides.!!

Thank you D Tailor! She is a mean looking car, great analogies too! haha

Barry Thanks man! Yeah, it's been hectic, schedule has been getting packed much to my surprise. Hope things are going well for you! We need to meet up soon.

Nick I hear ya man. Sooner or later we will bang one out together. My phone hasn't stopped ringing. LOL I think I'm tired of hearing. As soon as the snow clears. lol I'll call ya soon. :hifive:

I hear ya as well, the emails and the phone all day. Looking forward to the phone call, I should be in the new place soon!

Great job, I would love to detail cars like that. Maybe one day! You are in Chester, Barry is in Lancaster, I believe there is another in York. I feel claustrophobic.

R/T tuning out of Landsdale.. I almost went to them to tune my car, but went to good old Jeff Evans instead..

Anyhow, great work!

Thanks guys!

I wouldnt feel too claustrophobic, these are big counties haha.

Diablo wheel cleaner and p21s wheel gel was used on the wheels.

WOW Nick!!! :shocked

I'm glad I'm not the only one who gets cars with such trashed paint!

That is truly top notch work right there!! Hard to believe they're even the same cars...

Awesome!!!! :goodjob

Thank you Rick, I appreciate hearing that from you! Seems I get all the black cars that were washed with bricks and sand, but hey, business is business!
