A 2007 Porsche Cayman came to us in hopes to remove the swirling in it's black paint. The owner had used two detailers before in hopes to get the swirls out, and it seemed they never completely went away. The goal was to do just that, and it was obvious that the previous detailers had used some form of fillers/glaze. It was made obvious in the prep of the car when the citrus wash had produced some weird chemical rainbow like runs down the car. After a few rounds of proper prep and wash, this hazing went away completely and the paint was ready to be fixed. There was quite a lot hidden under whatever was used by the previous detailers, as you will see in the before pictures. Over the course of two days we brought the life back to this Cayman!
Products used
Meguiar’s M105 on purple wool pad
Meguiar’s M105 on yellow pad
Menzerna 203 on orange pad
Menzerna 106FA on black pad
P21S Paint cleanser

P21S TAW
CG Wheel cleaner
CG CitrusWash
Sonus green superfine clay with CG SuperSuds/water mix as lube
Meguiar’s Wheel Brightener
Meguair’s Super Degreaser
Procedure:
Car was rinsed, sprayed with P21S TAW, left on for couple minutes and rinsed off, then washed with CG CitrusWash. Wheel were cleaned with Meguiar’s WB, CG wheel cleaner and Meguiar’s SD. Car was clayed and washed again, and dried. Stripping car and putting them under halogen lights revealed that damage is worse then original seen under sun, car had a lot of acid rain etching which cant be seen under sun, as well as a lot of swirls then originally seen on car. Taped the car’s trim. Several combinations of pads and polishes were tested on hood and came to conclusion that wool pad and 105 will be needed to remove imperfections, clear coat is harder then on most cars. Some areas only needed yellow pad and M105, some purple and M105. After whole car was done with M105, followed up with 203 and orange and then with 106FA and black. Paint cleansed with P21S PC and sealed with denase paint sealant, after that was removed, Wolfgang Fuzion wax was applied per customers request. Rinsed the car, vacuumed inside, cleaned glass, and dressed tires. Took final pictures and customer picked it up.
