NXTx2/#16x2/Pinnacle Souveran and other recent details

I got some more Wolfgang stuff and since I hadn't used Souveran in a while and the Wolfgang-Souveran kit is priced right.... ;)

Anyway, just got it a few days ago and have only had time to go over my own car with Souveran. It already had NXT x 2 and #16 x 2 and still looked great, so no need to polish.

Here is a Mercedes SL500 I detail about 3 times a year. I went over it with Meguiars #9, the European version of Menzerna FP and topped with Poorboy's EX-P....makes for a very clear and wet finish!

This is a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 that had overspray on it. Clayed it, then used Vanilla Moose and Poorboy's w/carnauba.

On to a few quickies.

Brand new 350Z convertible, just a QEW wash and Quikshine. Normally, I wouldn't post a pic unless I polished and waxed it, but it is such a  car, I just had to! :p

Here are a couple that are for an office that rewards its employees with wash/wax jobs. Pretty good feeling that they like my work enough that it is one of their company incentives! Anyway, they usually only pay for a one step, so I used Poorboy's EX w/Carnauba on both of these....in the sun on a 75 degree day!

Scott,

As always fantastic work !!

I have been following your threads alot recently, as you do you work by hand right?

And I've seen some cars you've did with #16 as a final topper, well due to you I have gone and ordered some, Any tips/hints on application? curing times etc?

Thanks

PK

These were a bit more involved.

This 1994 Acura Integra has only 68,000 miles but, unfortunately, has a single stage paint job. I polish/wax it about 3 times a year and it had been about 5-6 months since I had seen it. Some mild oxidation on the hood, less so on the roof and trunk lid. I took pics, but they just really didn't show much difference from the polished to the oxidized side. White cars can be tough that way. I polished the car out with Meguiars #9 then used the Wolfgang twins.

This 2001 Passat presented a challange. First off, it hadn't been waxed in a couple of years and the bike rack on the roof was such a hassle to remove (according to the owner, it is properly balanced as it is installed right now and he didn't want to mess it up) so I had to work around it.

After washing and claying, I was suprised at how good the paint actually looked for not being waxed for so long. Very few spider swirls, etc. I guess covered parking has some big advantages. I went over the whole car with Clearkote's Vanilla Moose and finished with Poorboy's EX-P. Like the SL500, you can see how clear and wet EX-P looks.

Yeah bump on tips on #16. I used it yesterday on the 'Supercharged Frontier' thread a few threads down and it was such a BEAR to work with.

How often to you wax/polish your honda?

PK-I used Meguiars #16 like S100. A panel at a time and remove. Use thin layers and buff off the excess with microfiber towels. Pretty simple, actually!

See above. Thin coats!

It depends on how much free time I have. Probably every 6-8 weeks on average between waxing, polish 2-3 times a year. Haven't clayed in about 18 months, maybe more. Doesn't need it yet. :nixweiss

Great results as always!! In all honesty, your threads in the Click and Brag forums are the only ones I usually open!

I appreciate that, but there are some very good detailers on this board who do absolutely stellar work. :)

Scott,

Sweet, sweet, sweet as always ! ! ! :xyxthumbs :bow :bow

I really like how you know exactly what combinations to use on each type of paint and or color of vehicle! As you have said before, it is all in the prep work - obviously your prep is always top notch!

Keep it up! :D

Cheers,

Just goooorgeous my man!!!:xyxthumbs :bow

How did you get hooked up with the company that gives your services away as an incentive?? That is an AWESOME marketing idea!:up

As always, awesome work. I especially like the Passat, although I bet you don't like us "ski rack" folks too much:D

It really is a pita to do the roof for my in-between details. I take them off for the annual big boy job.

I had detailed the owner's neighbor's car and that neighbor passed my name along. She wanted to try me out on a couple of cars...which turned out to be that oxidized red Jeep (the one I used PwC on) and a black BMW. After that, the other employees decided that was something they all wanted.

I take that as a huge compliment! :)

BTW, I am really, really liking Poorboy's EX-P on black paint, the clear wet look is just amazing! :xyxthumbs

Wow! Excellent work as usual Scott.

I realllllly like the like of EX-P. With VM under it, do you feel that is a good prep for it? Can you use VM via rotary? maybe on a slower speed?

Sean-I guess you could use VM with a rotary and a finishing pad (like the 3M waffle pad).

I've done more than a few cars with VM/EX-P and they all seem to be holding up real well. I'm going to order some of Poorboy's Professional Polish and use that as a base for EX-P too.

...then used Vanilla Moose and Poorboy's w/canauba

Would that Poorboy's product be EX or the PWC? I was wondering if the polishing properties of PWC wouldn't undo/remove the VM.
