nxt car wash (is it just me, but I don't see what the big deal is)

I used nxt car wash the other day to wash my 2 vehicles. In my opinion, and that is just that, I don't see a real difference compared to the gold class. Actually, I kind of like the gc better. To me the gold class seems to sud more. I really don't care about the esp technology thing. I'm just looking for a plain, good old car wash that's slick, and gets the surface clean. Sorry nxt fans :(

i dont see much difference between nxt and goldclass car washes. they both work fine, especially for the price.

I have not tried the NXT shampoo but what I do desire in a shampoo places suds as the last desired feature. Most important is the lubricity. I want this water additive (shampoo) to embarks on my washing solution the ability to decrease friction and suspend dirt particles. When this solution cleans my finish at the same time without completely destroying my protection layer and allowing little efforts (low friction) on said finish I am over-joyed. Next comes rinsibility which means the shampoo leaves little or no residue. Suds are nice, one of my favorite recently used (4 mos) car shampoo is 1Z Perls which is almost devoid of suds but have detectable lubricity, cleans very well and rinses completely clean.

How did NXT meet these criteria?

Lubricity?

Cleaning ability?

Protectant disruption?

Rinsiblity?

Suds? Well I guess you answered this question with comparison to GC.

This infomation would give us a better idea of the product you just

reviewed. As it stands I can not draw any conclusions. :nixweiss

TIA

I equate the likeness of gel to better lubrication.

Apparently, what we value in car wash soaps are different. I don't really need the suds...after all, what good does it actually do?

I haven't tried Gold Class wash, but I imagine it works fine too. Either are probably a step up from the Armor All wash that I had before.

I don't really care about the ESP thing either, but the wash seems to react nicely to the cars I wash...I like how it works for me.

Another thing is the smell. I like NXT...it is "fresh." Apparently, GC smells like old lady perfume.

I reckon you are spot on there blkZ28Conv with the 1z Perls. I was initially concerned cos it was sooo devoid of suds, but it is a slick as ( during cleaning and afterwards as well! )

Excess suds just take up room in your bucket IMO..

How did NXT meet these criteria?

Lubricity- very high lubricity, even more than gc wash

Cleaning ability - when i used it the surface wasnt too dirty, but the cleaning ability was really good.

Protectant disruption - didnt see any difference in the protection of the nxt wax after i washed w/ nxt wash.

Rinsiblity - it rinsed away nicely, that could have to do with the protection on the car though.

Suds - as much as gc, maybe more. like you said not that big of a deal.

i would rate it the top wash you could buy "off the shelf"

Thanks Justin. That is extremely valuable information that one can use when needing or wanting to try another car/vehicle wash.

6cyl's_of_fury, when I first tried Perls I went Oh $hit this stuff $*cks! But as I continued washing I quickly eat my words, almost chocked on them from the fantastic results. :xyxthumbs

I couldn't believe how good 1Z Perls is compared to all the other shampoos I have tried. I finally enjoy washing my F-250 Superduty!!

blkZ28Conv.

I used the NXT Car Wash today for the first time. I was pleasantly surprised with the product. It is not Sonax, and I haven't tried the !Z products yet, but it performed admirably at its price point ($5.67/64 oz. vs $7.99/64 oz for GC). Based on my first time experience, I'll respond to your questions:

Lubricity - Definitely a step below Sonax in this category, but so is the price. The solution feels "thinner" than GC, but not lacking. I felt comfortable washing the vehicle which was moderately dirty (muddy) on the lower panels and a pretty good covering of sticky pollen/water on the upper panels.

Cleaning ability - The car came clean without requiring excessing rubbing/scrubbing. That said, I can't recall an instance where a car wash didn't clean adequately even the dirtiest of vehicles.

Protectant disruption - The vehicle in question had 2 coats of PUPP. Following the wash I QD'ed with PUGE and the surface was nice and slick. Again, I guess I haven't experienced the phenomenon of a car wash disrupting my protectant. As with you, I apply my protectants often so I guess it would take a Dawn wash to present this problem.

Rinsiblity - Very good. As mentioned in the "Lubricity" category, I feel that the "thinner" feeling solution rinses much easier than GC. This is evident not only on the finish, but in the rinse bucket as well.

Suds - Plenty. Enough to last through the end of the wash.

Unlike III's experience, my initial NXT Car Wash experience was quite favorable. As I go through the bottle, I will continue to assess it's place in my kit.

As a point of reference, these are the other washes I am currently using:

American Shine Carnuba Car Wash

Blue Coral Super Foam Car Wash

Meguiars Gold Class Shampoo

Meguiars NXT Generation Car Wash

P21S Total Auto Wash

Pinnacle Bodywork Shampoo

ProtectAll QEW

Sonax Gloss Shampoo

Zymol Auto Wash

I've been very happy with the NXT wash but the best thing I like about it is it enhances the NXT wax's sheeting properites.

Oh yeah, the part about it being good in hard water was another factor that drew me in. Usually, it takes more soap for the same task than non-hard water.

Thanks Mr Clean. Excellent summation and review. :bow

1Z does pull one to want to wash their vehicle. Wouldn't it be nice if it came in a gallon or 1/2 gallon container refills with the appropriate volume discount? :D

I also used to use Armorall wash..bought the NXT and made sure to measure it just as the directions specified..I really liked this stuff...even wrote a little review. Lubricity was very good, however...the most notable thing was there were not alot of suds...reasonable, but not alot. I don't need alot of suds..just the cleaning ability and the lubricants. I thought NXT was MUCH better than Arm&%^ll and a little better than GC....just factor in the price.....under $6...it's a good thing.

Alright (stopping to pull bandana over face), this here is a thread hijack! For those who sing the praises of 1Z Perls...Have you used Sonax? What washes have you used in comparison? The 1Z polishes really intrigue me (and are seemingly competitively priced), but frankly the Perls just seems a bit...how can I say this......overpriced??? Is it better than the Sonax product? ($13 vs $14.50 /500 ml) As it is, I treat my Sonax like liquid gold (hmm kinda looks like liquid gold :) )

OK (slowly backing out of the thread) you folks carry on.

I have both the 1Z Exclusiv Glanz Shampoo, which will return to the USoA shortly, and I have some Perls. I have just about finished the Perls and think I prefer the Glanz Shampoo...price not considered.

If you like Sonax shampoo, you will be pleased with the glanz shampoo or even Griot's shampoo - - another excellent brew!

I have a shampoo (auto) fetish. I have tried all the popular products. I'd have a real tough time saying which is best 'cause a few of them I'd rank as Excellent.

I used Sonax about 3 times. Gave it to a friend after trying the 1Z Perls Shampoo. Scottwax, I use all the products that you recommend for use in the sun. Try this one from an amateur.
