NXT 2.0 issues

I bought Meguiars NXT 2.0 this morning and spent all day washing, claying, and waxing. The NXT was a breeze to apply, and I planned on 2-3 thin coats. On the first coat it was painfully hard to remove. Halfway through I was ready to give up and wash the car with some dawn soap to break it down. On the second coat, I applied it as thinly as possible only on the hood and it was only slightly easier to remove. For the third coat, I only did the hood again and it was as hard to remove as the second coat, done as thinly as I possibly could. Then I had to wash the car to get rid of all the smears all over the car. What is going on? I thought NXT was supposed to be easy to remove? I have never had smears afterwards this bad.

How long do you let it dry? I just waxed the car and removed it once I could tell that the last spot I waxed was dry

Have used 2.0 on a number of cars with no problems...Can only list the method I use

Wash/Clay/Wash (to remove clay lube)

Apply VERY thin coats (swipe test after various time periods- 15-30 minutes)

Wait 12 hours between coats (to allow synthetic bonding)

Megs suggests 2 coats for complete coverage (2.0 has cleaning properties)

I have never had any problems either, one of the easiest waxes on and off.. I guess you use the liquid and not paste?? Tried NXT v1.0 paste and it can be a PITA to remove..

Did your paint feel smooth before you applied it? Did you shake the bottle well?

Apply to whole car, then start wiping where you started applying. I thought it was very easy to work with -- if you can get past the whole "trim staining thing".

I've had that same smeary shadowy look before from NXT and Zaino as well and I know I put it on thin with the PC.

Some days it works fine and some days it's an absolute nightmare. Eventually I just gave up and switched to an easier product.

huh, never ever had that problem. Are you waxing in direct sun? Are the panels where your waxing cool to the touch? Meguiars actually says its ok to apply the wax to the entire vehicle then go back and wipe it off.

People just love to smear on LSPs. If you are using more than 1/2oz per vehicle (even a large suv), you are using WAY too much.

But at least with Zaino the streaking disapears on it's own.

Wow, I love NXT. Although my Carnauba wax never attracted this much dirt/dust. It has the best fillers I have ever seen! My paint on my 1992 Integra was regularly compounded and edges burned by the last owner, so I can't polish it any further. but NXT hid at least 90% of swirls, and about 50% of RIDS.
