Norton Detailing Products

Hooked For Life
I learned of this line by watching Dream Car Garage. I just got my literature in the mail today and the products look impressive!

Although this brand is geared towards actual refinishing, the products do seem to be of Autopian interest

I like the Black Ice sanding paper and the washable Soft Touch Sponges designed to tackle hard-to-reach areas. The Spot Repair system that I saw on the show, has a mini wool pad; first time I ever saw such material used for final polishing.

Their Liquid Ice detailing system is interesting because it utilizes only one polish for cutting with a wool pad, cutting foam pad and polishing with a finishing pad.

Your link isn't working but I found the site and it looks interesting.

For all you tool and die makers out there this is the same Norton that makes grinding wheels.

Did you see the episode recently where Peter used the spot repair kit. I am very interested in purchasing it.

I saw that too on DCC. I'm interested in the kit that Peter used for small chips. Looks like their kit includes the DA air tools, which I don't need. Does not look like you can just get the small kit.

Sounds just like Optimum polish , I wouldn't be suprised if it actually is. Norton has never made their own liquid abrasives they've always farmed it out. On the same note Optimum does already relabel their spray wax under the SunX label for another company. So it's not a far stretch with the polish. Even so I'm going to try it , call the local rep and they told where to get it locally, it's $65 for the starter kit. Will let you know my thoughts after I use it.

Yeah, relabeling is the name of the game.

I'm sure someone makes those rotary pads for them as well.

Those Soft Touch sponges seem unique and handy to have though.

What all is included in the starter kit?

Thanks

Norton polishes like 03B, 02B and 01B are made by Autoglym...they even use the same number labelling.

I don't know about Liquid Ice.

It's pretty nice stuff. I don't any hands on experience with it but I've seen it being used last year. A little product goes a long way. I'm not about the rebranding though but either way, it's a very good brand and a lot of body shop environments use it.

That spot repair kit is really cool. It's kind of like the 3M Trizac system. It's a bit expensive though but you get a lot of neat toys with it.

I wrote DCC and got the following response:

"Kent,

If you go back to our website www.dreamcargarage.com and click on “DCG Live You’ll find information on the Norton Kit in the Blog.

Thanks for watching and especially for taking the time to write.

Best regads,

Tom Hnatiw

Westward Wind Productions"

The kit is much smaller than the one on Norton's site and I can't find the small kit there or anywhere else for that matter. I'm going to phone tomorrow and see what they say.
