Non Traditional Hose Recommendations

Hey guys, looking for a garden hose for filling the buckets and other uses. Still using a pressure washer for the car itself. I hate dealing with a regular hose, they are heavy and a PITA to wind/store. I had a coiled hose that was ok, lasted about 4-5 years which was longer than I expected. Just looking for something to replace that. I guess I could go back to another coiled hose, but the fireman style and the expanding style look interesting.

Anyone using a non traditional hose that they like?

When I first started detailing I had a 100` (industrial strength) Goodyear hose custom made. They cut and crimped the ends on right in front of me! I drug that heavy piece of crap around for at least a decade until one day it blew. When it did, I `temporarily` started using a $20 Wal-Mart hose. It only took 1 car to realize that I would never bother repairing the very heavy and cumbersome Goodyear hose.
I used $20 Wal-Mart hoses for a couple of decades after that and then the collapsible hoses came out. I bet I tried everyone of those but never had much luck with their durability. This past spring I ran across this jewel. I can typically get 6+ months use (using It daily) and man what a joy it is to use and store.

That hose you linked has lots of negative reviews.. :)
Hopefully now, they have corrected all the problems..

That`s surprising. I`m certain mine gets used much more then the average user.
Regardless, nothing gets the nod of approval from me unless it has proven itself.

To be fair, freezing is the enemy of any hose, especially the fittings, I`m willing to bet some of those could be atrributed to that. What seems unique about the zero is it is a high flow hose.

I`ve got a Zero-G in my backyard. I finally threw out the box and receipt, since it`s now been in use past the 5 year warranty without an issue. My wife just loves it, since it`s so lightweight and easy to handle when she`s watering her flowers or filling birdbaths. My only concern would be dragging it around on asphalt or concrete, as it is rather thin-walled.

Well since no one had any other recommendations, I have a 50ft zero on the way!

I use a 25 Ft one as the connection to my Hose Reel / Pressure Washer - it`s great - super light weight / high flow - been 3+ years now with no issues at all.

I would avoid leaving it out in the cold when not in use - but I use mine in the winter - just drag it out along with the pressure washer on warmer days.

I liked the hose so much I bought one for my dad. He likes it too. The real question is how long it will last.

So It`s cheap enough that if you have to replace it every 3-5 years - it`s not a deal breaker.... But as noted by a few of us on the forum - it should go at least 3 years as long as you don`t leave it out to freeze regularly.
