Took the words out of my mouth. It's all the same. If memory serves, no Miata before 1999 was clearcoated.
No clearcoat still looks great when done right, but knowing there's no clearcoat will put the fear into you. I drove with no wax at all one day after claying recently. I was afraid some bird would poop on it or a leaf would scratch it or something.
Post pics if possible, since most people here hear non-clearcoated and think I'm driving a paper bag or something.
