I was wondering if you all would post some before & after shots of your no-rinse experiences.



The worse the vehicle's condition was the better!!!!

all the No-rinse pics ive seen are on silver cars



you can wash the car with a dry chamois and it wont scratch silver



i want to see how it goes with soft solid black paint
 
He only uses ONR. 1 out of 100 might get a conventional wash. He does alot of black too. Single bucket as well.

Wheel wells get pretreated with ONR in a pesticide sprayer.

Then I use a long handled brush I purchased from autogeek to scrub them, dipping the brush in a bucket full of ONR left over wash from a previous wash

Then I treat the wells with Armor All tire foam. Looks good enough on my lowered car, would probably do something different on a big lifted truck where the wells are clearly visible....maybe include a mitt.

What does the color of a car have to do with its clearcoat?

:think: ill admit im a newbie to this forum, but even my gf who knows sweet fa about paint can tell me swirls/light scratches are easier to see on black than silver



and these low water washes sound like a recipe for scratching the paint

The hardness of the clear coat determines how easily it scratches, not the color underneath. Believe me, silver swirls JUST as much as black, let alone a soft Honda silver versus a new VW black.
 
I think there are always going to be skeptics of ONR...that is until they try the product themselves. I think everyone feels so unsure about the product because of how weird it sounds to fill a bucket with water and not have to rinse it off. You just have to see it with your own eyes to believe it. In my experience, it has *reduced* my wash induced marring. Don't know how to explain it, but ONR and other rinseless washes just lift away the dirt and carry it away. It leaves the paint unbelievably slick and vibrant.



Once winter rolls back around up here I will take pictures of how dirty my car gets when I use ONR and then an after.
 
See I don't get it. If someone has not used a product, how can they even comment it on it?

I've never tried a no-rinse product and I have never said one bad thing against it. Blows my mind. I know it works. If it didn't, I would even be getting ready to use it this morning! Any washing will eventually marr ANY finish. It's simply called friction. Some products are better at reducing this but not can ever stop it totally.



Scott, do you do the wells first along with the tires and wheels?
 
the only reason im choosing QEW over ONR is because QEW doesnt leave any wax on the car



last thing i want after spending 300 bucks on swissol is to have some cheap optimum wax laid over the top changing the look



and yep im worried about wiping down the panels without rinsing first - my solid black paint tends to scratch with the wind
 
I wish I would have snapped some before and afters of my first ONR use, but I didn't have the time. My car was pretty dirty as it had rained heavily the day before I used it.



I mixed up a sprayer with the QD strength, plus mixed up a sprayer at double QD strength. I was paranoid about the really dirty bottom panels, and figured I'd rather waste a little more product than mar the paint.



I used a single bucket with 2oz of ONR, and a chenille sponge. I found that the sponge floated on the top, and the dirt was pulled down to the bottom, keeping the sponge crud free.



I went slow, and did relatively small portions at a time. The black paint was sparkling and deep looking. I looked at panels with a xenon light, and there was zero swirls. I did miss a few places when drying, but went over them with the QD and a MF, and they came right out. I have to say I was very happy with the results, and surprised too because I was a skeptic.

If I'm not mistaken, its QEW that leaves a tiny layer of somethign behind, not ONR..



By the way, I wouldn't necessarily go and call anything from optimum cheap, as its know to produce some pretty impressive and quality products.

For some reason I thought QEW had carnauba in it?

QEW does have wax in it. ONR has a polymer that enhances how the car looks and the slickness. I know because I have used them side by side and the difference in gloss and slickness is noticable. I used QEW for 12 years, haven't used it since (except for comparison purposes) since I tried ONR.
