No garage, polishing outside?

Hello all, I have been lurking these forums for a VERY long time and finally decided to order my supplies and get started w/polishing etc...



I have no garage or shade available to me, which makes washing/waxing a PITA sometimes. My jeep is a Blue/Green color, how much harder will polishing in direct sunlight be and what effects will it have on the polish? Thank you in advance for any help provided!!

Do you have a family member/friend with a garage close by?



If not, I'd recommend doing one two things:



1) Polish in the narrow windows of early morning/late evening. This will require multiple sessions.



2) Find polishes that are sun friendly.



I am personally not a fan of those tent things since they never seem to cover the whole car or get blown away. The good ones cost $.
 
Eh, 88 bucks at walmart (pardon all the crap I have out under it, garage cleanout, lol):

not the best tent in the world, but it has 4 height adjustments and it has ropes on all 4 corners to stake into the ground, as well as stakes for each "foot" (8 stakes total)



in this picture it is on the 3rd height setting.



It wont cover your whole truck (I have a 3-door focus, and it covers my whole car), but you can at least get 3/4 of it covered at a time.





folds up all nice and neat in a wheeled carrying case.
 
Be sure to not polish outside on a windy day, lots and lots of debris in the wind tat can cause you trouble.
 
I am in the same boat. I buy waxes/polished that are formulated to use in the sun (i.e Poorboy's, Pinnacle, etc) and try to still polish in the am or late evening. Fortunately, many OTC products are now sun friendly.
 
pop-up is your friend. Not good with wind, but better to have shade than sun any day when trying to work a polish. More consistent result, and easier to wipe off the residue.
