No clay just PP then EX-P

The truck is always clean because I S&W every day but I since I"ve been expanding my business I've had zero time to detail this spring and summer and other than the daily S&W I've not done a thing to it since either March or April.

Last weekend I decided to stay away from the office and spend some time in the garage. I S&W'd the truck, knew I should clay but was too lazy to go the two extra steps...i.e. clay then S&W or wash again so I went right from the S&W to the PP.

The truck was pretty gritty but after the PP it felt great and looked wonderful so I did the EX-P.

Great results and the point I"m wanting to make is that even after about 4 months the previous coat of EX-P had protected the finish to the extent that I didn't need to clay to get a very smooth surface. The previous coat of EX-P had protected the paint enough that the grit that had accumulated was on the surface of the EX-P and consequently a working with PP was all that was needed to remove the grit and leave a very slick surface. I applied a coat of EX-P and now I'm good to go. I'll probably do another coat of EX-P this weekend....just for good measure.

There's so dammed much paint surface to work on a full sized extended cab pickup with a hard tonneau cover. It's like doing two four door Honda Accords. Plus I get tired easy....I'm old! These are excuses for not doing the clay thing which the perfectionist within tells me I SHOULD have done. Should according to whom?! The results are great. Screw the "should's".

You didn't clay?!?!?!?!?!?! Go straight to detail jail - Do not pass go - Do not collect $200.

Haha! Glad to hear the results turned out so well!!
