Nice!!!

The article writer called me, there was supposed to be a larger article on us (orignaly supposed to be Todd from Esotric, Joe from SuperShine, Rick (rickrack), and myself. Apparently they went with a bigger story from Barry Meguiar and shorterned our bit dramatically.

I haven't seen it.

Orginally they asked me to refer the top detailers that I knew, the list was large. Apparently Rick Rack, Joe, and I were orginally contacted. Then I was told I have to recommend one person per region, so I choose Josh Vette for the south, Todd from Esortic from the mid-west, Jason from Deep Gloss for the north, the North East and West Coast where already selected. I know Josh got in, did any other autopians make it?

I'm suprised Holden didn't make the cut:nixweiss

No...it just you, Rick, and Josh. You each got a column, and then the fourth column has a list of you guys and a couple others with website adresses.

I was just skimming through the magazine, and recognized Rick, and then looked more carefully. It would have been cool to see more, but still, it was fun to see some Autopians get some space!

Oh, sorry...I didn't know about the other thread. I thought about scanning it, but was not sure if I'm allowed to. Is it ok to do that?

No one details cars in Canada, just huskies and tractors.

Cool that you guys got in to AW though, I will have to pick one up.

Actually Kev I did recommend you and pushed the idea :xyxthumbs

My original list was greatly shortened.

Cool, thanks for the info:2thumbs: Sad they cut the others out and very sad there wasn't more room for the many talented people on here.

No kidding? Well thanks man, I appreciate that. It's the thought that counts.

It's good news that enthusiast level detailing is starting to get some real exposure. It's come a long way in the last 5 years.

I may be able to scan it in the morning if no one beats me to it...

DON'T do that...it's copyrighted material and you will get yourself and the forum in trouble. You can ask their permission to post it, but they will say no. Why would they let you post it for free instead of us going out and buying the publication to read it? Unless of course they have a free website and it's on there, then you can link us.

I'm certainly no expert, however, FWIW, I think you may be able to post an excerpt of the article, not the article in it's entirety(fair use). But honestly, its best to get the authors/writers permission (quick email and explanation as to use).

Edit: setec beat me. I need to look up Fair Use.

Thanks! I figured if I wait a few hours, someone would confirm what I suspected! They give a web address (www.autoweek.com/detailers) that I thought would link to the article but it is no longer available. Also, I'm pretty sure that Rick's info and website is out of date, but when I checked out the other websites in the article, they all worked.

The article lists nine total detailers by name, location, and web address. Actually, there are eight, because one is Griot's Garage...I'm pretty sure he will not detail a car for you!

The listed detailers are: Bella Machina, Esoteric Detail, Griot's Garage, Lustr Auto Detailing, Ottman Detailing, Peach State Auto Detailing, Superior Shine, 3 Layers of Gloss Auto Detailing, and Unique Car Care. I recognize most of these names from here. It looks like they listed nine, but highlighted three.

There are five pictures of detailing products at the bottom of the page, with just the product name, price, and a website.
