I am a newbie to detailing and the comminity here at DetailCity.. Seems like a very helpfull community.. I have had the nitch to detail and with my nephew going thru Auto Repair at our local community college it has accelerated.. I have been reading the board and wondering if someone has made a dictionary of all the abbreviations that people are using.. I have caught on to some but not all..
My wife and I just bought a Grand AM dealer car from out local dealer and had alot of small scratches from an automatic car wash.. My nephew and I spent 3 hours with his Makita buffer to get them out and he did a great job removing 90% of them, and seeing his eyes when he was finished and I told him how great of a job he did, made me think I should kinda do this on the side for some extra cash..
Sorry for the ramble.. Looking to get to know more about detailing..

Thanks
Brad

I just found this forum today, and I too am interested in detailing my own car. I am mainly concerned about preventing damage while cleaning and waxing. The abbreviations used are a bit confusing, but I'm sure I'll get the hang of them as I continue to read the threads.

The link that Charles gae you is also a sticky at the top of a couple of forums. Reference back to it when needed. Soon, you'll get the lingo. And welcome to DC!!

I'll save you some initial confusion - PC stands for Porter Cable, the random orbital buffer that many forum members swear by. For the longest time I couldn't determine what everyone was talking about! :lol
