Newbie Question. Which pad to buy???

I have been reading the forum for some time, and appreciate all the help it has already given me. Now I have a big question.

I purchased a PC 7336 that has a 6" semi rigid disc installed. I have been looking at polishing pads from different vendors and have about decided on the Sonus Pads. My quetions are this:

- when I remove the original disc and install the yellow flexible

plate, will I have to replace the counter-weights?

- there seems to be TWO kits offered. One kit includes orange, white, and grey pads that look as though the are thick ( maybe 1" or so)and attach with velcro. The other kit has orange, green, blue, and buffing bonnets that appear thinner and look as though they slip over the flexible plate.

Could someone comment on these two kits and tell me if my observations are correct.

The 6" counterweight that came with your 7336 will work fine with the pads you're looking at.

Here are the two kits I see offered by Autopia:

Both the DAS and SFX pads attach with Velcro. The orange, white, and grey pads you mention sound like the LC (Lake Country Manufacturing) pads Autopia is selling in the Garage Sale section, and should be used with a 5" backing plate:

Any of these pads should work well if matched to the correct backing plate. Since I haven't used the SFX pads I can't comment much on them, but the DAS pads would be a hard choice to beat. They are very similar to the Propel pads sold by Excel Detail that are my current pads of choice:

Here is a thread with a good description of the pads and their uses:
