Newbie needs help Is PC safe on Black?

Ok I have a Black 4runner and I am a Zaino nut. Use most of there products. Im curious if a PC is safe to use on Black paint. I have no swirls and I dont want to give my car any. Does a PC create swirls??? There was one mark on my suv what I purchesed it. At the dealer the buffed it out (not sure if a PC or rotary) and cause a hologram effect. Something else im also scared of!! How does this occur?? Is this normal for a PC or a rotary??



What type of PC should I look into???

PS There should be a FAQ sticky in this section on the different types of machines and there possible drawbacks. Drawbacks to a PC or a rotary (*** is the difference really??? The speed???), maybe a tutoral on things to do and not to. Information on Pad, material for pads etc.
 
The PC will not put holograms into your paint, those are caused from a rotary buffer. In fact it will do a nice job of removing them from your paint. A PC is most certainly ok for black. It will remove marring from a vehicle. You may have to use a couple different polishes and pads (if you use an aggressive polish you need to step down in abrasiveness) to get rid of Hazing that may occur from compounds. BUt if all you need is a light polish and a polish pad, no the PC will not marr your paint (assuming pads and paint is clean).

I own a PC 7336.

The big difference between a PC and a rotary is that the PC is a dual action machine meaning it spins and oscillated at the same time and does not create the friction (heat) that the rotary utilizes to level paint quickly.

That's a BS question. We're plenty newbie friendly; your questions were answered, weren't they? The point is that a message board is meant as an information resource. It would take WAY too long if we had to type an individualized response to every new member regurgitating all of the information already contained here.



When first joining a forum, it should be somewhat common sense to read through the existing threads and posts to see if the information you need is contained therein. If something specific isn't answered, then by all means create a thread about it and people will be glad to discuss it, under the premise that you have already read the rest of the basic information as prerequisite. Otherwise it just gets redundant and people get tired of saying the same exact thing 1,000 times.



And frankly, that applies to ANY message board/forum/online community with an activity-based specialty. Sorry if it sounds harsh or unfriendly, but either you are willing to take some responsibility for learning and doing on your own, or you aren't. That's the difference between doing a job yourself and paying someone else to do it.

I didn't try to come off like a ***** or anything... You posted suggestions, yet did not bother to check the sticky or even search. The thing is a new thread with the same Q is made every few days... I answered most of my Qs by browsing and reading.... The first 3 pages have threads that ask and answer all your Qs... Difference between PC's, hazing, pads etc etc etc...
