Hi all - While restoring my AMX I was searching for a product that would give the factory flat black Shadowmask option some protection without changing it's appearance. Tried the Duragloss #271 Flat Black Dressing and so far a big thumbs up. Cleans and protects without worry of polishing in to a gloss. (friend took the picture before I had a chance to wipe the hood down from dust but you get the idea) Great site glad to be here.

Not sure what i'm doing wrong, when I preview the picture the whole car is there and when I post the back gets cut off or at least on my end.

Nice ride!!! Your picture is fine its the size of your screen or window that is messing it up. Yea the flat black is kind of a pain to work with but looks sweet when done right. My wheels are flat black.

I'm from Mass as well :)

I'm a Mass-hole, too. Welcome aboard, AMX!

Since, the flat black trim is enjoying renewed use on modern cars, I'm sure you'll get some more suggestions on products to use. Collinite's #845 might be a more permanent type of solution. I would think the tire dressing probably washes away when the car gets wet.

Thanks !! It is a pain in the *** you kind of have to live with everything showing up if you want the flat black. The gloss black is just a little too over done for me and not the way it came from the factory. Have you been to the cruise night at Patriots stadium yet they're getting 1500 - 2000 cars every other Thursday.

Thanks i'm still pissed at the Bruins !! I'll go on Collinite's site and read up. Tech guy at Duragloss told me just don't rub it in hard and I won't have to worry about polishing it in to a gloss. Go Celts !

Welcome! Another Mass hole here!

I know swissvax and chemical guys both make matte finish product. Might want to look into those as well for that flat black.

That sure is a nice ride! I actually got into this whole thing because I am interested with restoring vintage cars and true American muscle cars is undeniably in my short list of pieces that I love doing.

The things is that they are so nice that most of the clients are thinking of immortalizing them, which is actually a direct quote from an old time client that wants everything done with it.
