[newbie] Figuring out my ONR/OPC regimen

Hey,

Amazing resource here! I'm a total newbie, and would like to start a weekly/biweekly ONR/OPC wash.

My mom is beginning to understand how harsh automated washes are, and would like me to handwash her '09 RX350. Not to mention, washing my own car is a bit therapeutic as well.

I've read through the ONR thread and still would like some clarification.

How does this sound for a weekly/biweekly regimen?

Separate buckets of ONR solution for wheel/tires/wells and another for body panels. Another bucket for rinse.

First, soak wheels with full strength OPC. Then use grout sponge/brush w/ONR to "rinse". Then a towel to wipe dry. I heard doing the wheels first is a better idea cos wind will blow dirt/dust particles from the wheels to the body.

Second, ONR w/MF from top down - one panel at a time. MF soaked in ONR, then 2x MF for 2-pass drying.

As for interior, quick vacuum then 3:1 diltued OPC spray on surfaces and wipe w/MF.

Then a yearly clay/polish/sealant from a pro detailer friend. ^_^

Now for my questions:

-how does the regimen sound? any tweaks? simplifications?

-how many MF do you reckon I need? 5? 10? more? 2 for wash, 4 for dry, 2 for interior?

-what exactly does the QD step do? can I skip it?

-OCW every month or two? can it be put directly on an ONR wash? or do I need OCII/OPII?

-do these products "go bad"? i'm tempted to get the gallon of ONR and OPC, but i don't want any of it to go to waste if I only do 1-2 cars 2-3x/wk.

Thanks!

Separate buckets of ONR solution for wheel/tires/wells and another for body panels. Another bucket for rinse. one gallon with .5 oz ONR to clean the wheels, then dump it and make another for the body. No need for two. No need for rinse bucket either. Your grout sponge will release dirt well and float so it won't put up junk off the bottom as long as you don't stir it up

-how does the regimen sound? any tweaks? simplifications?sounds fine, just keep your stuff together so you don't make a lot of trips around the car

-how many MF do you reckon I need? 5? 10? more? 2 for wash, 4 for dry, 2 for interior? depends on how dirty the car is. Your numbers sound fine

-what exactly does the QD step do? can I skip it? QD maintains a "just waxed look" you can skip it if you have the new formula ONR, or you can substitute OCW

-OCW every month or two? can it be put directly on an ONR wash? or do I need OCII/OPII? anytime you want, it will layer. yes. only if you have a machine and need to remove swirls

-do these products "go bad"? i'm tempted to get the gallon of ONR and OPC, but i don't want any of it to go to waste if I only do 1-2 cars 2-3x/wk. no they have a indefinite shelf life, but dont let them freeze. Also, you should use OPC 3:1 on the wheels unless they are nasty so you don't waste it. 3:1 will work fine and 8:1 works pretty good inside.

I can't imagine needing to use OPC to clean the wheels every time if you wash the RX regularly.

The reason you would do the wheels and fenderwells first is so when you dress the fenderwells (which not only makes them look better but easier to clean the next time), any dressing overspray that gets on the paint is washed off when you wash the body of the car.
