Newbie- Chrome/Gold plastic

Hello, This is my first post and I'm glad I finally found a forum that looks so wonderful.



I've looked around online for chrome/gold plating, and it's all with electricity, but what if the item is plastic? I want to gold plate all my accents on my 1990 Chrysler LeBaron. Thanks guys.

its not the metal the plating process uses. the part origially has to be chrome plated and its the chrome that the electrical process is used by. the chrome conducts the electricity and then the gold plating is added to the chrome. If you get it done, watch how the process is done. Its rather fascinating.
