Newbie: Autoglym, Mothers and Meguiar's (Which is the best)

Hi,



I have a Black Metallic car from 2008. Have a few light scratches and swirl marks.



Bought the following item to start to detail my car (by hand):



-Autoglym Bodywork Shampoo Conditioner or Meguiar's Gold Class Car Wash

-Autoglym High Definition Cleanser or Mothers Clay Bar

-Autoglym High Definition Wax or Meguiar's Gold Class Liquid Wax Or Meguiar's Gold Class Paste Wax

-Autoglym Extra Gloss Protection

-Autoglym Super Resin Polish

-Autoglym Perfect Palm Applicator

-A Few Microfibre Towels



What are the steps and which product do you prefer?

If I was doing it by hand with the options you have:



Meguiar's Gold Class Car Wash w/ Mothers Clay Bar to save some time



Autoglym Super Resin Polish x2 (depending on severity) w/ Autoglym Perfect Palm Applicator



Never used Autoglym Extra Gloss Protection, so Id go with Meguiar's Gold Class Paste Wax via Autoglym Perfect Palm Applicator

After washing and claying I would go either Super Resin Polish & Extra Gloss Protection or SRP & High Definition Wax. I have used EGP for many years but not the HD Wax however the HD Wax does seem to be popular and frequently recommended here in the UK



The trick with EGP is very very thin layer, imagine the stuff costs 1000 times what you paid for it
