In http://www.autopia-carport.com/forum/showthread.php3?s=&threadid=4518 I said I'd get back to y'all when I had tried this product on the black car, because it keeps no secrets.

Well - I tried it on my Porsche and on a friend's Ferrari (see http://www.autopia-carport.com/forum/showthread.php3?s=&threadid=4686 for a full discussion on application and techniques used. )

The verdict? :up :up - Two Thumbs Up!

Great stuff, results equal to or better than 3M SMR, easier to use, easier to buff off. I'm very pleased with it.

That is good to know. If I run out of Meguairs Swirl Free Polish (Pro line), then I know what to get until I can get to my distributers-and it also gives me something to recommend to family and friends to use so I don't have to go to my distributer and pick it up for them-Swirl Remover 2.0 is available at Pep Boys.

I'll try not to "build a clock" here, but I'm teaching myself the art of detailing (on my own car so far, of course). I have a black 2006 CTS-V, and have had no luck with Griot's polishes to get rid of swirls, etc. From reading this board, I ordered some Megs 205 & 105, the 6 CCS pad group, along w/a bunch of other stuff. Today, I washed my car 3 times w/Dawn to try to strip it (pretty successful), dried it w/my Griot's MF towels (I like 'em), taped off the edges of my headlights and the chrome trim on my hood and the washer nozzles, then went to work on the hood.
I only did half of it, to get a 50/50 idea of how it was working. I was using my previous generation Griot's RO. First was the 105 w/the Orange pad. Hit it 3 times w/3-4 proper-patterned passes each time (decent pressure first 2 passes and very light pressure the last pass when using both the 105 and the 205), then came the 205 w/the White pad; again 3 times w/3 passes each time. Finally, I threw on a coat of Griot's Best of Show wax, using the Griot's Red Pad.
Results were pretty good. Not what I want yet, but I'm learning, so I'll hit it again tomorrow to see how I do. I'd estimate that this took care of about 85-90% of the "issues".
First pic is the side of the hood I DIDN'T do (untouched), and the second pic is the side of the hood I DID do today. Anyone have any feedback for me or tips, etc.

The write-up that Bryan did is really helpful. I followed these instructions to the letter with great results.

I will say for your first time with mags 105 and 205 these results weren't bad. Learning to do this takes practice, but once you get it its very easy. Take a look at Bryan's write-up. Its very useful. Following these steps, you cant go wrong.
