Newbee to the site Oldbee to detailing

Great site!...recommended by the folks at Mach 1 Registry. I'm always looking for new/improved ways to keep the Mach in pristine appearance.

Looking forward to cruising the site for ideas and recommendations.

Nice Mustang. What are your current detailing products you use on it?

We are here to help and make suggestions!

Regards,

Deanski

thanks Deanski: the products I'm currently using (in order of use) are:

1. RainX Car Wash

2. Meguiars liquid Carnuba wax

3. Meguiars Quick Detailing

4. RainX on the glass

5. Stoner's Invisible Glass

6. California Duster when I travel.

I've heard a lot on the Mach 1 Registry about Zaino's...seems pretty expensive and I don't know how much better it is than Meguiar's.

Zaino is a totally different animal! It's a sealant and it does require a good amount of prep to get the best results.

Here is some info you may want to read: Zaino tips

If you like the Megs line, try the polishes such as #9 or SWP and Hand Polish. For bright finishes, I hear and see that S100 wax is really nice. For darker, Pinnacle Souveran is really nice.

Also, I've seen excellent results from products made by Clearkote called Vanilla Moose (glaze) and Carnuba Moose. Look for Scottwax pics and you'll see why! Carnuba Moose is not on the website in a pic or detail of it, but it's on the order form on the site.

Clearkote "Moose" Products

You can see the results of Zaino on my SC430 in my sig and in the memberws gallary.

Search the site here, you will find so much info you'll die!

Oh yea, this site will also drain your wallet!

Deanski: OUTSTANDING pic of your car!!!! Man that red is just liquid.

I'll try some of the tips. The Dark Shadow Gray on the Mach 1 is very metallic. I don't know if the Zanio system will give it much more than I already do.

As far as draining the wallet...this spot is "easier" than the Mach 1 Registry's...Accessories area (man with custom wheels, exhaust system, and on and on and on...). So far, I've managed to swap the OEM silver antenna for an OEM black one ($9 and change).

Soon I will post pics of it with the Souveran topper.

Zaino on metallics make the flake like jump out of the clearcoat!

But on the other hand, find some of Scottwax pics and see what I mean as to this Clearkote stuff.

The new Zaino is much better. Cleans up well and applies better.

Just read all the info on Zaino, prep the snot out of your finish, get all the oils off (Dawn wash & Z7 wash or distilled H20 and alcohol spray) then Zaino away! I spray the finish with Z6 prior as I mix the ZFX/Z5 and let it sit to activate. Then apply REALLY THIN! It should be hard to see.. that thin! I find the foam pads for waxes are better as the terry ones absorb too much. Spray the applicator with Z6 lightly, then apply! Let sit, test with finger if glossy, remove. If you get any streaking, mix up 1/2 cap Z7 and 12oz distilled water in a spray bottle. Spray the area with that mix and wipe off! Once done with 1st coat, respray Z6 again B4 next coat. Apply next repeat!

Enjoy the Zaino!

:welcome to Autopia!

Meguiars has its strong points, but in some areas, other products work much better. Try different things!

:welcome

deanski is one of the top Zaino pushers. listen to him, he know's what he's talking about. i love Zaino as well, I have 4 coats on my WRX. It's not really all that expensive, considering the cost of some other stuff out there. You might also benefit from the powers of the Klasse twins.

nice job on the mustang though!

Just ordered a Pinnacle kit..gonna give that a try. I'm beginning to think that all the "high" end products do a good job. Will send results.

The Mach 1 does not get driven daily. Mainly cruises, shows, etc. I will be driving it to Nashville next April for the Mustang 40th Anniversary.

I've got a set of stone guards for travel, but instead of mounting them with the screws, I had a convertible shop put snaps (female) on the guards and screwed the male end to the fender lip. (The fittings are black anodized). Now when I travel I snap the stone guards on and when I get to my destination, I remove them (snap-on, snap-off)

Totoland Mach:

If you got the kit with Souveran paste, you won't be unhappy or disappointed with it! Very nice wax on dark cars! :up

Zaino has it's likes and dislikes as with several items, all are personal and subjective.

After all the coats of Zaino and adding the Souveran on top did a nice job of creating a more deeper look. Zaino is just brighter when I look at it. Does not absorb light, but refects it very well.

Since you got a handle on finish prep, once you apply the Souveran and wipe it off, send us a pic! A close-up shot of that finish will really show off how well it looks!

Enjoy the Souveran! :xyxthumbs

Deanski
