Hey Randy,

Welcome to Autopia man. I hope that you enjoy it.

its always cool to have another detailer here.

In response to your question (I am by no means an expert, but I've read alot on here)

Alot of people tend twoards an extractor for doing carpets. It seems that they like to scrub the carpet, either by hand, or with a Porter Cable DA with carpet attachments. The solution I've seen used most is a warm water and woolite solution. People just use some of that on the carpet (some put oxy into the mix also) but that gets scrubbed, and then people use an extractor to pull the water up. Some say that a heated extractor gets better results.

Again, I am not a subject expert on this. It is just information I have gained reading this website.

By the way, using the "search" function on these forums will really help, its a great resource; and there are great threads on almost every conceivable question.
