My name is Matt. I drive an 06 Windveil Blue Gt. I'm new to serious detailing. I do love it when I get done washing my car and I can just stand back and look at it. Right now I am trying to decide what type of wax would be best for my light colored car. I'm sure I can think of many other questions. But that is the one that keeps coming to mind time and time again.

Start reading the forums here and you'll find about 1000 choices for a wax or sealant.
 
Read the Forums, look in the online stores and read up on all products. Wax can only do so much. Wax is such a relative term at Autopia. Don't forget the prep. All the wax in the world won't help if you have oxidation etc etc. When I first posted someone told me that a $3 bottle of Turtle Wax would look good with the right prep. People here know which waxes last the longest and can provide a great shine. Good Luck!!
 
i will say if you have a light colored car--especially silver--that a sealant looks much better imho...doesn't mute flakes and gives a nice glow.

Welcome Matt, I agree with Ricka, but make sure you get it properly washed with two buckets and grit guard to keep the dirt from being rubbed into the paint which will produce swirls over time and also claybar it to remove all the bonded contaminents before sealing, it will make a world of difference with how your car will look afterwards.
