New Zaino?

Hey :wavey, I had read a couple of posts on here saying that there was some new and improved line of Zaino released. Other than the bottle, and color of liquid, what is new about it?

Formula change. Slicker, product itself is thinner, more gloss, better layering properties, and more durability.

Woohoo, maybe that'll fix my swirls :spot. Is the dust attraction the same? I know this is kind of a heated debate whether there really is any...

I woudn't expect miracles with the new Z5 - if you have actual swirls, I would fix them before Z5. I have found new Z5 to be helpful with those minor, inevitable towel and washing marks, but can't comment on its performance with anything more than that.

I haven't noticed any dust attraction difference from previous Z5, but I don't pay a great deal of attention to that.

As Showroomlincoln said, slicker, glossier! Those are the two I noticed with the new product.

The Zaino Z2 now has a white cap and a very pink color. The Zaino Z5 has a white bottle with a black label.

Dust attraction. Little to none. I cut some wood in the garage space next to a Corolla treated with the new Z5 with ZFX X2. I had a good pile of saw dust going on. I vac'd that up and expected a car covered in saw dust. I looked over the finish and gosh, it looked glossier than ever (product curing.) There was now saw dust on the car, just a VERY VERY thin spare layer of white dust. The finish looked the same the next day (driven 5 times and garaged at night last week, now it just sits in the garage.) The finish could of went by with a Z6 Qd, but I washed with Z7 and put on a coat of Z5. The gloss and depth improved, some of the VERY minor swirling was filled in too (I made the finish as perfect as possible before using Zaino, but a few swirls here and there and near the edges were lightened but not totally removed.)

Is it this one?

Can't hurt but, you don't really need to specify the new stuff. According to Sal he started shipping the new Z2 back on June 9 and the New Z5 started shipping June 27 so you should be fine.

you are still thinking about covering up the swirls. IT will take alot of Z5 and lots of Elbow grease to see the slighest results. I tried the old Z5 on a pretty swirled Car and It did work ok but after 3 washs and 3 snow storms it was gone. Remove your swirls dont cover them up its so easy to do with DACP or other products.

Yeah I had decent results with Z5 on previous swirls before.

Well I took my car to a collision guy who was going to remove the swirls at the dealership's expense. We brought the car in his garage, and man what a garage:shocked ! I about drooled right there, it was a small room with nothing but florescent lights in the walls. I think it had about a total of 50 big tube lights.

Anyways, we could barely see any swirls... I bought the car back out in the direct sunlight and we could then see them better, but they were noticably less after i washed the car with Z7 and spritzed it down with Z6 for some reason. He seemed to think that the swirls never made it in my clear coat, and were probably in the Zaino layer. He said if it is in the clearcoat then it is just barely there. He told me to try using my Z5 some on it, and if that doesn't do it then to go to another professional detailer because he felt they weren't deep enough to justify using a orbital buffer on.

Page # 2.

In less than 12 days you go from Never trying Zaino to trying the old Z5? Then having 3 washes and three snow storms in 12 days?

Seriously, WTF dude?

You are NOT supposed to use elbow grease with Z5. Its a polymer sealant with no abrasives, you just apply like it like a sealant.

I am freaking stumped at some of you're posts Fr0zen.

I have never used Zaino My self some of the people I know have tried it and Like it. I have had it on my car once when someone put it on my car to show its possible to get rid of swirls. Before I knew about autopia it was last winter and it did cover the majority of the swirls and i was amazed but a little while later they came back. The post above you showed a while back ago on page #2, I was reffering to next gen stuff.

You seem to be always going threw my posts looking for some mistake or typo I made to nag me on.

It is a major pet peeve of mine for people to be spreading bad detailing advice.

PS: I don't even want to break down the seriously bad grammer or spelling. Yes, its that bad.

Hehe you two sound like your married:p Just kidding, I couldn't resist lol.

Seriously though, I found that my swirls stayed at bay through multiple washes with Z7 and several rain storms. Lasted about 3 months, but that's just a guess. I don't think the original swirls I covered were that big, but they might have been pretty close to my new ones. Before I washed my car the swirls looked a lot worse for some reason. When I caused tons my own swirls from a car wash about 3 months after I bought the car brand spanking new, Zymol wax completely hid them. After dawning it and then switching to Z2, they were just awful. But after 5 coats of Z5, a month to let my arm heal lol, then another coat of Z5 and they were virtually gone.

If your swirls arnt to bad just get some Meguiars Swirl Free Polish and go over with a white pad or buffing pad and they should be gone. If they are a little bit bigger use some DACP before the SFP. And your swirls will be gone for good and you wont have to worry about them comming back up.

Swirl Free Finish's Have a much deeper richer shine. Its the small little lines that make it look hazy in which the SFP comes into action. :)
