New White Z4

Sup.. I've been reading a lot lately on detailing.

I just got a spanking new WHITE 07 BMW z4 3.0si a week ago. I'm thinking about detailing/waxing it. After all the reading about white cars nd such, i think im going to go with this :

1. Optimum Rinseless Wash (I do not have access to a hose)

2. Clay it

3. AIO Klasse

4. 3-4 Layers of Klasse SG (30 minute wait time intervals)

5. Top it off with a carnauba wax.

^^Also can i do this all in one day?

What carnauba wax would you guys recommend on a white car? I park my car outside by the way.

What kind of interior protectant products would you guys recommend? I dont want that wet look. I like the ordinary factory matte look. I'm mainly focusing on protecting the dashboard, console, arm rest from dust buildup and U/V rays (Its a convertible).

Good looks.

if you already have all the stuff i'd go for it!! trust me you could spend lotsa$ and time if you second guess the process and products. the one question i have is 30 minutes long enough to wait inbetween coats of the klasse? i just got don't putting a second coat of exp on my car and wonder if i should have waited longer. oh well i'm sure someone else will give the correct waiting period. obtw, on my 3 month old car, just finished appling rmg 2x and exp 2x. but my cars black:hairpull different products will fulfill your needs with a white car.

:usa

Yeah I dont know about the 30 min wait between the sg coats.. Can any klasse experts chime in here?

Ok, i think ive decided..

1. Optimum Rinseless Wash

2. Clay it

3. AIO Klasse

4. 3-4 Layers of Klasse SG

5. FK1 Pink Wax

6. Finish off with FK1 425 Detailer

And will protect the interior dash board, vinyl, leather seats with FK1 108

Wish me luck.

That was one of my other personal choices.. but since I have some KSG left, dont want it to go to waste. I'll try exp next time and compare the results.

Sounds like a good plan.

Personally, I would contemplate dropping the SG altogether. I would use one or the other, sealant/nuba. White looks great with the FK1 1000p (a few coats a weeks apart, also killer on wheels) and it has great durability. PW compromises durability for wetness and depth IME, depends on what your after.

I love FK1 108 ecspecially @ $36/gal. I use it everywhere, tires (love it, couple coats for glossier, one for matte), wheel wells, interior, rubber seals, and engine plastics. It is a bit glossy for me on dashes and I have had good results dilluting it with Dist Water (obviously you'll lose a bit of UV, but ??).

If you want a more factory look you could combine 1Z Cockpit with 1Z Tiefenplegr(sp?).

Oh I didnt know that you had the KSG. Its really good too but the EX-P is easier to use.

The reason im going for PW instead of 1000P is because im looking to achieve the maximum wet/depth look especially since its a white car and since im putting on multiple layers of KSG before the PW, wouldnt that help the durability issue on the car?

Also ive read many people having some great results with a nuba ontop of KSG which really brings out the depth of the color.

I'd agree with NSXTASY. I used SG a couple times on my white car. Never really cared for it. Even after I topped it with something else, it just wasn't for me. After clay all I do is KAIO (actually now its Prime Strong, but they both accomplish the same thing) and then 3 layers of 1000P. I can't find anything that looks better on white. I have Pink Wax as well, but 1000P just looks right. Especially after it cures for a day or two, its a great look. Pretty durable as well, I love the stuff.

PW is pretty durable for a nuba, on a garaged car I have found it to last about 6-8 weeks. White is a tough color. I have never liked KSG, however I only used it once, that was enough. I'm biased.

KAIO is good, however, there are so many other AIO to choose from its tough, I wont even go there.

I'm not sure KSG under PW would help the durability of PW, certainly considering PW seems to be really solvent heavy, it may even remove some SG, I dunno.

I thinks its kinda mixed regarding a nuba on top of a sealant, I prefer one or the other, it also depends on how often you are capable of applying the LSP. Every few months, stick with the sealant and topper, but if you are gonna reapply once month, I would just do the PW.

HTH, your originial plan will definitely work though, it's trial and error and totally subjective.:bigups
