New wheels KAIO + SG?

I have a new set of wheels, they are painted light gray, no clear coat and tires are already mounted.

What would be the recommended way to prepare them before putting them on the car?

I was thinking of going the KAIO + SG way

Fabre- Yeah, KAIO then as many layers of KSG as you have time to apply. I go for six and consider four to be a practical minimum.

Yes no clear coat, they are cheap TR wheels.

They will be only used for autocross, so I want to build protection to make it easier to remove cone marks and brake dust.

Thanks Accumulator, ideally how often should I repeat? They will only be on for autocross days so maybe 30 days/year

Do the twins hold up to the brake heat?

Yeah, IME the KSG works just fine. Wheels don't get nearly as hot as most people think they do (even when you're really working the car, even on track days).

FWIW, I've done OK using Blackfire sealant on brake calipers too, on vehicles where those get mighty hot. Never tried the Klasse twins for that though..

I bet they won't need redone as often as you'd expect, and if they do it'll be from the cleaners you use to get the brake dust off rather than from the autocrossing.

See what it takes to get them clean and redo the KSG before you think it's absolutely necessary.
