Gentleman,

I have spent alot of my weekend working on a new websie and was looking for soe feedback. Im waiting on a server name transfer. Also I know I need more in the services menu. (still working on that one) I'm also adding a few pages, but here is a general breakdown and was looking for some feedback. I want to add the bling factor while keeping it short and simple. Let me know what you all think. I have to ad a video page with a bunch of how to videos yet. I just need to get them uploaded to youtube. Im also going to be adding a blog, so I can post my write ups on it. Thanks in advance.

Barry

As you know the music breaks up. A little slow loading. Your home page needs some key wording to help with search engine finders. I love the black and white photos.

Cheers,

There is not very much information on there for 5 pages. I think you need to talk about paint correction, detaiing, and clear bra, but I would call it paint protection film instead. Be sure a lot of the valuable stuff like your location is on there(ie Google map), and a bunch of key words on your home page.

*shakes head* sigh...terrible...absolutely terrible...the rest of the detailers in your area are about to find themselves looking for another trade... lol =]

Am I the only one that caught the typos and random capitalizations mid sentence?

I would see about making a section or links or something for testimonials or your yelp or somewhere people have reviewed your place (if they're good)

curious to see how you list out your package...

In terms of bling--imo I might be cautious about OVER blinging only because I feel like for the most part you get higher end clientele so keeping it clean and classy should do it

the pictures I'd like to be able to control the scroll speed on the collection section? or maybe another photo gallery area where I can quickly scroll? the top picture section that scrolls across I like--just because there's a lot more on the screen I see that you had to make them smaller which in a way I feel like it doesn't do them as much justice...

sorry...a week of straight cpa license prep got me rambling =[

But yea overall I like it a lot =]

I like the new site Barry ! One suggestion I have right off the bat is increasing the spacing between the menu-bar links (ex: between "Home" and "Services"). At least double the space that's already there, IMO, it looks a bit cramped right now.

how did you find that? it's not the link he posted...

when you click on the profile & services links, it takes you to the accountant portion of the website that Alexshimshimae was talking about.

Dunno buddy I think the background sort of looks like wallpaper in someone's living room. The site just looks a bit "I'll take that one" instead of a site tailored to match a professional detailer, like you (I know it was built with a program, but...). Also, I can't "trust" your site just by looking at it (I'm still trying to make Wolf's Chemicals more "trustworthy"... it's not easy). Try to stick to 3 colors (black, white and red) and have those as your dominant colors (aside from what's in the pictures). Too many colors confuses people. I think there's too many shots of Barry on the site too... by that I mean, you shouldn't have your pretty face :) in every header of the site. Perhaps a fading slideshow or even a .gif of "sleek" shots of cars that you've done with the type of car and "by Presidential Details" typed on the side of it. It's enough to have your face on the "about" page, but I'd suggest one where you're posing for the camera in front of a cool car. Oh and make sure that you include the "property rights" disclaimer under the brands of cars you have listed on the site. They get pretty pissy about those things :). That's all I can think of for now, but I'll let ya know if there's something else! Please don't take offense to my suggestions :).

Honestly, Barry I do not think this site does not communicate the professional level of work you provide your clients. I see you are using intuit site builder, but frankly I would suggest you pay a web professional to make you a site. The problem with all the website from builders is they either suck from a usability standpoint, terrible on the eyes, tough to make changes for SEO, or flash based making small changes sometimes a bit more difficult (not to mention access issues for mobile phone visitors or those who do not have flash). Your work targets and merits a higher clientele, and frankly this site is far from expressing that.

Instead of being a negative nancy with no feedback, here are some items that I would address first and foremost:

- Watch the amount of bolding used on the site. It can be good to draw out a point you want to make but too much and it just becomes ignored by the user or annoying. Instead of bolding perhaps use a bulleted list.

- Wallpaper background has got to go. The added busyness add to my likelihood of feeling overwhelmed by any items that you have in the copy. It makes me a tad stressed from the start. Plus, it does not add an confident or appeal to you offerings.

- For the testimonials page you might want to bold just a few key phrases in each individual testimonial. This will help pull out the main point, because a lot of people are just going to skim so make sure you control the copy that they read with the bolding. Also, perhaps use a case here with before and after pictures connected with a testimonial. I think that will connect better. Also, what I think would really set you apart would be a testimonial video from a client(s). Copy is great, but anyone can write something on a website. Make sure in the video that you have the client drive away in the car to add authenticity, that he/she is the owner in fact. People are emotional with their cars and seeing a video of someone expressing the care and pampering you gave there car could go a long way in calming any fears they might have.

- I do not really get the museum aspect as a visitor (I do as a hack detailer, but that is not who we are talking to). Questions I think visitors would have: Are these cars that you like? Your favorite cars you have detailed? etc

- Have persistent contact information that is easy to read and find on every page

- In the testimonial section, if you have detailed any cars that have won awards include that there as a 3rd party vouch for your skills

- The treatment page needs work. You are a very through man, so expand upon the details of the services that you provide. Right now they just read like options at the express car wash.

- Consider a page about why detailing is important

- You have a better collection of before and afters than what is represented on this site

- The store front looks under construction so I will reserve comments for that area

Something I do not think I have seen discussed here before is implementing a system like click to call on the site. What this would do is after a given time period (you can specify), a notification to the visitor appears asking if they need any help or want to be connected to you. I think that if someone is spending 5 minutes on your site, they might be a pretty solid lead for business, and might be hunting for answers to their questions or just getting lost with all the opinions. There are tons of services that do this but wanted to throw the idea out.

I am sorry for the long post, and please do not be offended with any of the more direct points I made. You have been a huge asset in learning more about detailing in my personal life, that I wanted to give some nuggets back :)

I feel like it needs fine tuning of some kind...I just can't put my finger on what...something about the way it comes together doesn't quite blend or fit somehow....

I like the simple package layout =]

I definitely like the way you laid out your steps explanations; better than reading like 234324 steps that aren't really worth mentioning...

I did spot a grammatical error.
