New Vehicle - Procedure?

Hello -

Thanks in advance for any help, this site has been a great resource so far!

I just purchased a new dark blue metallic ESV. I asked that the dealer not prep or otherwise touch it, so it's a few weeks old right from the factory. Thus far, I've simply pressure washed it to get the gunk off (paint is in good shape, it barely needs a clay.) I'm getting ready this weekend to finish it off, however, I'd like to verify my procedure based on the advice of others thus far:

- ONR wash

- Z18 clay with Z7 as lube

- Re-wash with ONR

- Z6 wipe down to remove ONR residue(?)

- ZAIO

- Two coats of ZFX Z5 Pro

- One coat of Z2

- ZCS if it looks good at that point

Is the ONR suitable for the prep wash? Someone else has advised doing a Dawn wash. I'd prefer to carry this out within the garage, if possible.

Thanks for any help! :)

Nice list... I would add to make sure your Z2 is ZFX'd. You are adding Z2 on top of two coats of ZFX Z5, so you need to ensure the curing qualities of ZFX bond with the Z5.

Thanks, Sergei. I planned on ZFX Z2 - I just omitted it from the post, sorry.

Will the ONR do a good job for the prep wash? I guess the concern is the polymers in the ONR.. but I'd assume AIO will sort that, or at a minimum, a Z6 wipedown prior to AIO?

Thanks again. :)

As an update, I went ahead with the ONR (I have a very short attention span :D) in hopes that the Z5 Pro w/ZFX will bond; the ONR worked great! The paint was in perfect condition, so I'm skipping the AIO, doing two coats of Z5 Pro, one coat of Z2 and topping it with CS.
