New Vehicle now what

I picked up a new F-250 with all bells and whistles yesterday. My last was black got a lot of swirls, I waxed but never sealed, used tire dressing that slung crap everywhere. Liked the truck but I just did not know enough to keep up th look over the long haul. This one has a very very dark green metallic paint. The best news is the dealer did nothing to harm or swirl the paint. Since this is a 101 thread could you give me a manageable approach to keeping the truck looking great inside and out? I am also interested in references to other threads on the issue and what specific products to use.

Have you ever concidered seeking out a qualified pro in your area to apply a protective coating to your new truck? Ease of maintenance, durability, and scratch resistance is greatly increased with these coatings. There are plenty out there that you can apply yourself as well. For a new vehicle, I can't suggest this enough. That is, unless your one of those guys who enjoy waxing once a month.

I am going to bet there isn't a qualified pro within 2 hous of me. So I am going to have to probably go it alone unless you call Zeibart a qualified pro.

Find the time to iron x/clay, aio polish, and apply a sealant or a durable wax (depending on the weather where you are- i have to live with wax till the rains stop). Its worth protecting your investment

I am in the middle of no where Virginia. We have some people that detail, but 30 years ago I bought and sold cars to get through college. Made a lot of money buying, cleaning up and flipping. I would just prefer to learn the latest products and do it myself.

you think like most people here, learn to do it yourself. :bigups a lot has changed in detailing during the past 30 yrs for the better. do you have a good dual action polisher ? if not, that's probably the best investment you can make and you won't regret it. .Perfect Porter Cable 7424XP Starter Kit is a good example of an excellent start up package. in the forum section of this site, look under the Autopia Car Care Guide To Detailing section for great information. folks here are happy to share their experience and can save you a lot of head aches. this stuff gets to be pretty addicting, but remember to have fun too.
