That reflective vinyl is a huge pain to get off! and the interiors get pretty messed up in these!

process was: lots of heat for the lettering

-clay the raised edge from the vinyl

-pro duz all with rotary yellow pad

-pro swirl remover with rotary black pad

-pro duz all with pc white pad speed 6 and 4

-toped with pro satin cream

I pick it up at a local distributer. check prowax.com they may have a dealer locater or something......It seems to be a bit cheaper if you go in.

Pretty sneaky undercover car, Impalas are a dime a dozen, pretty easy to just blow by that and not realize what it is. :nervous2:

Excellent job on the detail, the paint looks very deep and wet. :)

There are a couple of those unmarked Impalas in the town I work in, pretty tough to keep in mind when everything has been Crown Vic's for so long.

[soapbox] For a while here the superintendant of the state police banned unmarked patrol cars (for the state police). His philosophy was that he wanted patrol cars to be a visible presence, and unmarked cars were to be reserved for detective work. That was a beautiful time, not having to worry about spotting unmarked cars on the toll roads here, not to mention it just seemed fair. The real lunatics and people who aren't paying attention will do stupid stuff right in front of the marked cars.

Of course, that superintendant is gone, and now we are the nexus of "stealth" cars...even most of the marked patrol cars, state and local, have no lights on the roof, and frequently no markings front or back (only on the doors). The state police are back to patrolling with unmarked cars, of all different makes an models...takes all the fun out of everything. [/soapbox]

I take it this is a soft spot for you...

I was doing the job and one officer came up and talked to another officer saying how he couldnt wait to get a radar in it..... im not sure if my face had the right expression on when I looked up at him and made eye contact.... oh well. I dont trust any impala anyway.

Meh...I just think it's slightly over the line into entrapment. The cops don't need unmarked cars to give tickets, take radar, etc., as I said before, they do fine without them.

Nice job. I have 2 of the Pro products you used on the Impala, Duz All and Pro Satin Creme. From your results, looks like I should blow off the dust and revisit those products again. Can't recall, but is the Duz All a light polish or an all in one product?

Yes, duz all is a polish.

The title was more an attention getter, I understand its an impala with a light and steelies still. Im not a fan of the sneakyness of it either. people dont always need a ticket to remind them to slow down. soemtimes they just need a police presence to remind them. Ive seen cops just park there cars on the side of the road and leave it there, and everyone slows down..... so anyway its a shiny new impala!

Hubcaps and spotlight give it away.

My cousin is a cop and the county has acutally supplied them with chargers....

I heard that too in my area from a friend who is a local for East Hempfield. Hope they don't get the R/T's.....they'll be too busy haulin' a$$ rather than haulin' prisoners! :woot2:

Our state troopers are starting to get Charger R/T's here. It's a damn shame I can't outrun a Motorola because one of those wouldn't stand a chance against either of my cars. Much better than a Crown Vic, though.

Now the day I see a hi-po in an SRT8, I'll be turning in an application at the sheriff's office.

This isn't new though. If I remember correctly, Miami-dade PD used to ride around in Cobras, trying to catch street racers... Of course they were limited and rarely seen, but its fun to catch cool cars with strobes stopping someone..

I just saw an unmarked Charger yesterday on the Interstate here with someone pulled over. I didn't get a good look, but I presume it was the NJ State Police.

Update: Just saw my local police in a marked Charger yesterday, pushbar on the front, no lights on the roof...I gotta get the shape and lights imprinted in my brain now.

Maybe the zo6, but I guarantee a Charger r/t will stick right with the cavalier I mean gto.
